I had a beardie couple a few years ago, babygirl gave birth to some eggs and we incubated them... Once they hatched we had them seperated by a border in the same big ass terrarium and one day one dug under the barrier and babygirl ate one of her own babes.

It was an awful scene...

But we had a buncha cute ass baby beardies...so fucking adorable.

I've only got snakes but I have a buddy that keeps lizards and he's got several beardeds.
I never thought I'd get into dragons, or any lizards really; but after seeing his, I plan to get one eventually.
I'm just too damn caught up in getting more snakes currently. :lol:

A couple..a beardie named Jim originally and then Babygirl. Jim went wild seeing that female, never had seen his "beard" like that prior.

Beardie and a crested geco were my favorite lizards I've owned, psycho-ex girlfreind stole my beardie I had for 6yrs.Waiting till my sons old enough and def. Buying him a beardie..

I worked in the largest bearded dragon breeding facility in north america for a year. Ask me anything! I spent a lot of my time caring for the newborns up to about 2 months old. I also ran the entire incubation process.

They are super fucking awesome aren't they!

So a tip with the babies (yours looks like it's about 6-12 weeks old) is instead of just leaving a thing of water for him to drink from, get a spray bottle. Set it on mist and twice a day, slowly squeeze it onto his snout and see if he starts drinking. This is the best way to get water to the new guys because A they need more  than the adults and B sometimes they are too stupid to do it themselves.

Nice pattern btw! Looks like it probably came from my facility.

I don't have a bearded dragon, but I thought these Geckos were really cool that I saw in Thailand and the Philippines.

I believe they are called Tokay Geckos. I really hated having to try and chase these guys out of my huts. Was terrified of waking up in the middle of the night with one of these dudes crawling over my chest. They make these really loud barking sounds and will try to bite when you grab them

This is a rather small one. I saw some that were well over a foot long.

Our last one just passed away.  We have had them for a couple generations.  First one in high school.  Got it a male and then they had babies. Gave most of the children away.  My momma one got out of its outside enclosure one summer and lived off the land in our yard for a few months.  Then one fall day it was at the back door cold and stiff and saying hey let me back in its freakin cold out here.  They have to be pretty smart.  I give it some credit for that.

is that last one deformed it looks like its tails all messed up.  You give it enough calcium and proper lighting?

Yeah the beardie in that last picture definitely has metabolic bone disorder.

Yey, babies first poop since I brought her home. I was actually worried about her being impacted because the pet store was using sand as a substrate.

She ate a ton of crickets today as well as a little hand made beardie salad. Crickets and meal worms offered for 15 minutes 3 times a day salad offered all day. Water dish all day, misting her and basking rock (non heated) lightly 2 times daily. Basking temps 105f for this young-ling. Also a hide and a cool end of tank with uvb bulb around 80f.

After doing a little bit of reasearch on bearded dragon housing I decided to do a custom terrarium for her.
It will be about 60 gallon size.

I was wondeing if anyone has first hand experiance with what they like to have in their tank.

Should I keep it simple with a sloped piece of wood for it to climb on and bask on?

Or can I make it a stairway that leads up to is sprawling hammock basking area. There will  be plenty of room for me to work with. Obviously everything will be removable for cleaning.

Also can I put a baby beardie in such a large tank, as long as it is still easy for it to catch crickets and I keep an eye on it to make sure?

I love that I am talking about bearded dragons on the shroomery! You guys are great!
