Anyone have a bearded dragon? Baby bearded dragon pics!!! Update 2/26/15 * 1

I got a new bearded dragon today.

I went to the pet store to get my dog something and of course I had to browse while I was there.:facepalm3:

I saw 3 baby beardies, two of which looked pretty lethargic. Then there was this guy bouncing all over the 5 gallon tank.

The condition they were keeping these guys in just did not seem right. I felt bad for the one that was rambunctious. So I bought him/her.

I hope he is healthy he seems to sill be active it is eating crickets and mealworms which is probably a good sign.

Does anyone here know first hand about these guys?

I'd never keep pets like that because I'd feel bad for them not being in their natural environment

I can barely stand an outside cat going to live at a relatives house and being kept indoors.

that was puff the bearded dragon...had her for about4-5yrs..she passed away last summer....one day she layed about 20eggs and for some reason never really recovered....:sad:

I know this thing did not have a chance where he/she was. I could not leave it. I dont know why. There were many other animals there. I had to save this one though.

bearded dragons have great personalities actually. of all the reptilian pets they actually seem fond of people at times. my friend would keep his in his hoodie sometimes and take it places and the lizard liked it! and being scratched just right of course :p
i remembered once we were smoking buds outside and it was just chilling in the grass with his dog and it looked really content. while i can only imagine other reptiles might freak out and scamper around

Think of it this way though... I mean they will DIE in pet stores most likely.

It's just working with it as it is.

I agree I would much rather they were in their natural habitat, but there's such a small chance of that ever happening.

Yea the morons at the pet store had him in sand. I was concerned about that until it pooped.

Then they got me to buy a heat rock.

Get home......Google bearded dragons and it says DO NOT USE HEAT ROCK WITH BEARDED DRAGONS.

So now I have to keep the heat cranked in the house till I can go get something else tomorrow.

Its super cool to watch him...

yeah use a heat lamp and uva light....otherwise they wont digest their food properly...adult bearded dragons should eat more veggies than live food...they can be pretty picky about the veggies they eat so try a bunch of different ones that are good for them and find what they like....:jah:

My silly boy kyra. When your beardie gets older you should think about starting a colony of dubia. They are easy to breed and require minimum maintenance. Crickets get too damn expensive when they start eating 200 a week. Also make sure you have a uvb bulb.
