Looks like someone is suffering from a bad case of misunderstanding. :haha:

Still wrong imo.  Doesn't matter what their defenses are. We are responsible it seems even if we did not create the situation. (life)

I don't follow. We are responsible for the external stimuli we respond to?
Even if we are responsible for the response, then that response depends on the individuals defenses. So how do defenses not matter?
The person's defenses dictate their entire response to the stimuli.

In the wild, in a healthy ecosystem, the weak are food for the strong.  This is the healthiest way things work unfortunately.  To compel the strong to silence to protect the weak is a fools game.

Great, you finally at least admit what I have been alluding to, that there is strong and weak, the well defended and poorly defended, and in the end there is emotional suffering.
Emotional pain does exist, and just like in the wild as you say the weak are food for the strong.

We can conclude this little banter in that case.
I wasn't objecting to that idea, just asserting that words do hurt the poorly defended.

I disagree to a extent with our responsibility whatever that means. Whatever we identify the self with it is not in control of much if anything. People mistake responsibility with organisms ability to learn and change behaviour.

Maybe the best start to reform or change is acquiring a more modern and defined language. Alcohol kicking in getting a bit out there.

No they don't imo, the poorly defended are already hurt within.  A word is maybe a reminder but the words have no power until emotionally they are given meaning by the person.

All this is moot if there is no free will.

Saying words can be harmful, could also be phrased as, words have a potential to cause harm, if under any circumstances this is true, then it can in fact, be said that words are harmful.

I think the op was either ironic, or has no sense of irony at all. Which could it be?
