"We are in no way telling people to bite their tongue"

Could you explain how forcing people to abide by rules restricting what they say is not telling people to bite their tongues?

Don't shit in my mouth and call it candy.

to much emotion, or personal attacks, and I'm sure youll get answers.

Admittedly, I was a little overzealous in that statement.  However, as Paid said, topics of discussion are wide-open... it is only the matter in which you present them that you must take caution.

would you plz investigate, so i can feel alot more welcome at a site
ive contributed to for over 3+ years. thx.

I went through and took a look at the posts that were removed and it seems the majority were posts made after your original post was removed asking why.  I have reinstated this thread as it does not display any foul play.  You are angry, and rightfully so - btw, I even gave you a tip on how to fix your wall

Mr Mushrooms if you are walking through the woods and find a fruit tree and eat, how have you not just eaten a "free lunch"?

Hi how's it going, wanna kick Heroin basically painlessly on your own, in your own house, without any government "help" ,or the "help" of a crazy condescending, judgmental medical doctor? Read this:

If you find some clothes in a store and take them are they free clothes?

The tree could have easily belonged to someone.

Oh I forgot, everything "belongs" to someone these days doesn't it? Ok then dude, if I'm stranded on a desert island and I eat coconuts from the trees on the island, am I stealing? Have I then just eaten a free lunch?

so now I suppose the *real* question is -

"If I passed out an woke up to find a bunch of ants crawling around inside my mouth, an then I decided to just swallow the little buggers...would that constitute as a free lunch?"

There is a certain point when taking something that belongs to someone withoug asking is not stealing.

If that weren't true, then asking would be stealing time.

Taking an apple off of a tree in someone's front yard might could be considered stealing, but There are percimmon trees all along the roads where I live. Somebody owns them, but it is safe to assume that nobody cares if you take some percimmons. Therefore taking them is no more stealing percimmons, than asking about them would be stealing someoen's time.

They're not free, because you had to put your hand out and pick them to get them. A free lunch would be like if you were sleeping under a tree, and a bird crapped in your mouth.

All that is bull. A free lunch is eating without working, stealing, or paying. Actually no one really can own land or trees anyway, they just think they can through tradition. If I eat a piece of fruit from a tree I found while hiking through the woods, it was damned sight well a free lunch, even if I had to reach forth my hand to recieve it.

So stealing isn't always wrong?

Does it require intent? Can you accidentally "steal" something from someone?

It's a hard fact of life but there isn't any truly "free speech" anymore than there is the proverbial "free lunch".

I don't think negative assholes should have a home here. But hey, that's just my opinion.

Nice to see you in a discussion.

Cheers,

I don't think most people know free speech is a word unto itself, I looked it up:
The American Heritage? Dictionary of the English Language: Fourth Edition. 2000.

free speech

NOUN: The right to express any opinion in public without censorship or restraint by the government.

That being said, nothing is free, in the terms of "having no cost", as energy must be spent by every active force in the universe, and also in the sense that ever cause has an effect.

Just thought it might help if we defined our terms, a common precursor to debate.

Thanks.

As a side note, I also ran across this while doing my search:

Respectfully Quoted: A Dictionary of Quotations. 1989.

AUTHOR: Charles Bradlaugh (1833?91)
QUOTATION: Without free speech no search for truth is possible, without free speech no discovery of truth is useful, without free speech progress is checked and the nations no longer march forward toward the nobler life which the future holds for man. Better a thousand-fold abuse of speech than a denial of free speech. The abuse dies in a day, but the denial slays the life of the people, and entombs the hope of the race.
