wow, a shroomery admin finally caved in and made a flames forum. fuck that....
if you want to extenguish a fire, you don't just move it into another room. because all it will do there is grow.
so it goes. at least you dumped the polls forum

The flames forum is ok. What's wrong with it? The polls forum was a good place to put polls because in any other forum they will not last long enough for many users to vote because votes do not bump them.

yeah it sounded like it might have been a good idea......and it might be once everyone calms down about it and stops making thousands of "so-and-so is a homo" threads...but right now its pretty pointless...what if you never check in on the forum and someones flaming you, then they have no choice but to go back to otd and start flaming you.....I guess we can wait and see if it ever becomes productive like on other sites but right now I tihnk its doing nothing but creating another otd.

The Thunderdome is a sad idea and it should be closed.
I don't think it will ever be useful. Why should we promote violence ?
The Shroomery is not the FF and we have a lot of full-time flamers (I have to admit I like SG in this role >>> I guess I'll have a few stars lost with this statement...). There is no need to promote their activity !
I don't like the general atmosphere it creates. Thor, you managed to calm down the vendor forum. Why did you allow the vendor war to start again (and worse than the previous one) ?
A poll would be a good idea to make up your mind.

I agree, the thunderdome is worthless. No offense intended. I have seen simaliar things work on other sites, for example: the shark tank at www.overgrow.com. However, it just doesn't seem to be adding to the overall good of the shroomery so why don't we replace it with something that will help. I agree that maybe a grow log section would be a better idea.
