Yes you can be selfless and serve yourself,

I'm sure you'll have some neat interpretive spin on this but your above statement makes 0 logical sense.

Actions carried out in a mentally silent state are free from any selfhood. Whether serving "self" or "others" is irrelevant as there is no self or other in such a state.

So how are u implementing this idea of giving yourself to The Lord?

Some form of service. I am not quite sure what yet. I find that when I try to do things and gain worldly things for myself, my heart feels troubled. But when I put my attention on serving others, a self luminous peace arises.

Unfortunately I have a lot of old habits that are all 100% selfish in nature. I am one of the most selfish persons you will ever meet. Thats why I think a lifestyle change would suit me well. I want to re-invent myself and stop being all about me and my own needs. I am open to ideas on how to go about this. Even the idea of sex isn't that important to me anymore.

I think you have to be selfish first and foremost.  Once you understand everything you do is for your own gratification, like you serving others to offer yourself to The Lord, you can extend the goodness you feel from being selfish to others.  You only want to serve others because you want to feel good about serving others, and there's nothing wrong with that.  I don't think you can properly serve others in the sense you're referring to until you serve yourself, and at least for me a part of that is understanding I am selfish and everything I do is because I want to do it.  I don't do anything anymore unless it's in my best interest.

The whole point is to be selfless. Yes you can be selfless and serve yourself, the two are not mutually exclusive. You can also be selfish while serving others. You can be selfless and serve others, you can be selfish and serve yourself.

Here's a real good text on the nuances and differences between these various types of selfless/selfish service:
Liao Fan's Third Lesson

The aim is to get out of the way of God. You dissolve into God and become a conduit for Divine Energy. In such a case it is not you who is doing the work. The greatness is not from you but it is the glory of God itself. God can choose any channel to carry out such work, be glad and grateful God chose you.

The feeling is the judge, jury, executioner of the service. If you "selflessly serve" but there is pride in your action, you choose to feel pride in your action thinking "it was Me who did it" then there is no room for God and no room for good. So that's one kind of false goodness. You feed the thirsty not because you want to be the one to feed the thirsty but BECAUSE they are thirsty. Your child takes a shit all over the floor, you don't wipe that shit up all over the floor because you love wiping shit off the floor, you wipe it because there is shit on the floor and it needs to be wiped off.

When you do this there is a natural dissolution of the ego. It takes no ego to pull it off. The action is carried out in mental silence. There is no karma, neither good nor bad. It's a dissolution. Of course you will have a righteous work to your name. That's what your name IS. Your "name" is all the actions you have ever carried out to begin with. But the key is that it's done in silence. With no I to carry out the action, there is no self involved. Thus "selfless". That's when you get to feel the presence of the greater Self, the infinite. It's for this joy of feeling that Self that is the motivator. Selfish righteousness. Nuff said.

You haven't swayed me.  You've actually solidified my point.  Shit doesn't need to be wiped off the floor when your baby dumps there.  You do it because you don't like shit on the floor.  You drink water when you're thirsty because you don't like being thirsty.  None of this is selfless because there's only oneself, and that's also you.

Refining yourself to the point where you forget your being selfish I think is the key.  I think that entails acting like Deviate and taking a stand for your God.  He will fail continuously and will give up on his stance.  Not on God but his stance of serving for God.  If he's done this earnestly and given enough time, his failure will crumble his ego, but life will continue in a different way because he's set it up that way.  Now his ego will take a seat in the passenger side and watch life happen instead of trying to make life happen.

Can't start the service without the idea, implementation and failure of starting the service.

As far as I know no action can be carried out without some thinking going on.  You just made that up right?

Talking from direct experience. Basically when my sushumna nadi pops open to say hello, there's this profound stillness and silence. It feels like I can taste God there and then. I recieve instantaneous answers & insights about what I'm doing or where I need to go. More importantly there is no thinking in that state. There is just doing.

Learn from the dancers. I spent a good 6 years refining the art of energy dance. Now 6 years doesn't sound like much but I assure you that 6 years on Syrian Rue is a very long time. Magical things happen when you dissolve, magical things. The body is configured to activate fully when you go into a flow state. A freeform state of self-expression. The mundane world of social conditionings and restrictions does not do much justice to the self. Each and every one of us has abilities beyond all profoundity. The geniuses simply know how to harness their lives to tap into this state more than others. It's not luck. It's a carving of the will, a shaping of the Self, a removal of that which is unnecessary and an invitation extended to that which is necessary. I doubt Nikolai Tesla would have put out half of what he did if he had gotten besotten with a woman. For him it was an unnecessary distraction. That's the kind of thing I mean. If you want to do something, get it done. We are intelligent beings with the ability to make a decision and carry it out with perfection if we allow ourselves to set up the ideal conditions. Imperfection only arises when we give it less than 100%. When we give it 100%, the flow state arises and all the magical aspects of human life flow forth. The human body is an instrument to be played and it requires the special touch of sexual charisma. If you're in tune with your sexual charisma, it flows forth freely, it flows forth in abundance, talent appears from a vast void of potential.

In these states there is no room left for thinking or thoughts. You may find it so hard to believe that this is possible. But yes, it is. The mind can disappear, the mind can be extinguished. This is Wu Wei. I am spending pretty much the rest of my days figuring out ways to enter this state and abide in it. In this state there is no doer, just a doing. There is nobody hearing, but there is sound. In such a state there is no processing power allocated to self-reference of the self, the thinker. Rather all the processing power and neurocircuitry goes into self-referentially processing the action itself. So instead of experiencing an I who is doing something, you experience the doing something and you experience that to its fullest extent. It's like a magnifying glass focused on the doingness of the doing.

Neurology will come to explain all of what I am saying in time, it's literally only a matter of time. When we can get a few spare MRIs going and image all this shit up, what are you really going to say then?

Every way that is is not every conceivable way, because not everything that can be conceived is manifest in the pattern."

Well I guess you must be blissed out 24/7 with all those fine powers you've developed.  What could go wrong when you can do all that?

Re: All the spiritual teachings are making too much sense [Re: Icelander]

Kinda half blissed knowing I've gone this far and super depressed about my current life situation which presently is not in a state where I can actually do those things. Need to get the lymph flowing again but I'm having a hard time as usual in winter. Where I come from the winter outshines this place's summer so it's a drastic change. But yes, when I am in flow, it is literally bliss 24/7. No room for anything else. But there came a point where I got bored of this too itself. It turns out that bliss itself doesn't seem to be the goal. To me it's more like something you need access to, in times when you're feeling like shit and need a pickup. But bliss itself isn't the endgame of this reality in my understanding. The endgame is to bring others up, to tend to the Garden of Earth and to make it a safe sanctuary where we can each discover ourselves before we head off into the graves. I consider gaining this knowledge an instrumental part of my higher purpose. It is a necessity in order to bring about what I truly came here to bring about. The more people I can share this knowledge with, the happier I get. And I'm not looking for bliss any more, found that. It's now about fulfillment and nourishment, it's now about taking all of those accumulated learnings and sharing them with others. Holding this much power in my hands is actually pretty fucking boring, I actually have to tell you. What saddens me is that I have access to everything - if someone's looking to break out of poor health, I can point them in a direction. If they're looking to make money, I can point them in the direction of successful people who make it all clear how it's done. If someone's looking for enlightenment, there's a direction. Hugs, there's a direction. I have access to all the high vibrational directions, it turns out that this is something I'm very good at finding out. Clarity, getting to the bottom of things, cutting out the bullshit and finding the sweet water in the centre of the desert.

Jack of all trades, master of none. The kinda dude who picks something up, gets to a decent level at it and leaves it to the side to go find the next big toy to play with and rinse and repeat.

All of this and nobody to share it with is pretty boring. So begins the next phase of this journey which is simply to dissolve back into the ocean I came from, to release these teachings into the world. Accumulating blessing after blessing, while a tremendously rewarding journey, does nothing to generate fulfillment itself. Fulfillment it turns out is derived from sharing one's knowledge and learnings with others. Nourishment is found in satisfying one's needs and the needs of others. Together, these things finally fill that gaping hole in the soul of the wounded healer.

Reading a book called "Millionaire Fastlane" by MJ DeMarco, the author himself stated that once he made his millions and clocked 'the game', he got very fucking bored. So you're this guy just sitting around with millions in the bank, successful business, bitches, whatever. Yup, still bored. It turns out for this guy that the next thing to do is to go write a book about his journey and in that he finds fulfillment.

That's what I mean though really. The only thing we truly have to give to the world is our legacy. That alone is Who We Are. It's our only real means of "surviving" death. People still quote Aristotle. Shows you how damn successful he was at what he was doing, for his words to be echoing millenia later as if brand new.

You'd enjoy Becker if you believe all this legacy stuff.

But imo you and aristotle (and me) are totally unimportant and have no real legacy to leave.  You are about to go back to being dust most likely after a life long struggle just to feel ok. Which you likely will fail at.  In just a few more seconds aristotle will be forever forgotten too. :haha:

You've been repeating this stuff endlessly for as long as I've known you here.  Each time you say NOW you "get it" but it seems like nothing ever really sticks.

IMO the problem is in the beliefs but that's your choice.

However this post is just a repeat of all your others imo but that's what's considered spiritual here.

Problem is back pain, money, sex life in roughly that order give or take....  You can get euphoric in your mystical meditative states, go to bed and not get a recuperative sleep, and wake up feeling hungover, discouraged, and shitty... depressive states and manic highs go on and on and on and on...

But praise Jesus!  :ohwell:

Everything is better than it was the last time.  I'm good.

If we could look into each others hearts, and understand the unique challenges each of us faces, I think we would treat each other much more gently, with more love, patience, tolerance, and care.

It takes a lot of courage to go out there and radiate your essence.

I know you scared, you should ask us if we scared too.  If you was there, and we just knew you cared too.

spiritual teachings shows us the right path to follow and make our mind free from tension and other things. So they lead us to concentrate what we want from our life.
