Transhumanism
    #21090055 -

Will/would you augment your body-mind with technological enhancements if/when they start really making major differences in typical human abilities..uploading and downloading memories, brain-2-brain telepathy, superhuman strength. .

If we survive even another 50 years I believe things of this sort will become insanely popular effectively marking a huge shift in evolution.

This brings into question almost all old philosophy which applies to the majority of humans currently residing on the planet, as when this shift occurs its doubtful the ubermensch will fit into any philosophical or psychological model that anyone has come up with because this will be a different human.

However, we could argue that there is still human there..new toys won't do much to change that and I agree..therefore an all encompassing theory of both ubermensch and human and transition; the reasons why how and implications thereof will need to be established for any one philosophy to be relevant.

Hmm.. Its a very good question, and a solid topic for debate. The idea of augmentation is fascinating and tantalizing to say the least. However I definitely would not put myself on the forefront of the first generation release of a product that could theoretically change the very fabric of your being.

That being said, I have always marveled at the concept of preforming complex mathematical gymnastics as a form of meditation. Sign me on if there is a chip that would help to that end.

With the advance of technology, you're going to find that those traditional superhuman powers like you mention will only be the beginning and these powers will be acquired through means we currently think impossible or bizarre, like learning how communicate in Xhosa by getting a shot from the doctor, the ability to smell magnetic fields and things much more fantastic than that.

Sure, sure.  We all know you dreamed it up, started typing it out, then had to run to the washroom and rub one out.  You're not fooling us man, you want in on the action just as much as we do.

Replacement parts appeal to me on the short term, but replacement bodies appeal to me more such as in the John Scalzi series, the Human Division including old man's war, in which you can sign up for the a new life in space when you reach 75 years old.

the secret process involves leaving earth and basically saying goodbye forever to your friends and relatives and bequeathing any belongings.... but you get a fresh new body (your own personal clone with some genetic fix ups - no ugly people in space iykwim) and then you have to work in the Colonial union protecting space colonies from aliens for 10 years with certain options before you get to colonize someplace if you survive the battles.

The Ghost brigades involves full grown babies that are e-trained; they are genetic clones without the human mind transfer that enables the old man's war... so they have ultra-super enhanced bodies involving both advances in genetics and nanotech in the blood too, they also formulate space web like brain pal implants that connect you up with your co-workers in ways that are really clever and it goes beyond data exchange as we know it. sex also finds new opportunities.

Some speculative fiction is embarrassingly stupid, but some of it gets downright exciting and may be very near.

So-called 'Transhumanism' is an UBER sick(and that dont mean good) toxic idea of the Eugenicist leaders. The unspeakable souldead ones who have robbed all the money, land, etc.

To support Transhumanism ('H+' for short) it means you are with them, and are helping them with their heinous agenda. In fact, the psychedelic community has been infiltrated by placed leaders who support and promote this idea of Transhumanism, for example through the generations of the 'counterculture' we have the psychedelic transhumanists. Timothy Leary (also an Aleister Crowley devotee), Robert Anton Wislon (a LEary devotee), and Terrence Mckenna etc

All H+ is is the continuation of the evil Eugenics Movement, except with added technology.

If you want to checkout just how evil the roots of H+ is then watch this:

Avid supporter of Eugenics
Will take steroids at 30+ and 60+
If I could implent infrared, ... vision for my eyes I would.

I wish we had doctors which could control robotic arms with their brain for surgical precision.

Ubermensch??? You're basing transhumanism on superiority based on racial essentialism?

What's wrong about trying to improve the human race?
Nature in itself is transhumanist. On average we see 3 anomalies (visible or not) in every human body.

Some africans are immune to HIV
How about the word's densest bones?
People of the Moken tribe see more clearly underwater.

Are these people superior to others? Entirely situational.

i'm really not looking for blonde blue eyed guys but am eagerly looking for ways to make space exploration feasible. Any way possible

Dysgenic fertility is a real threat to a species and I don't find it absurd for trying to make an effort to rid the world of inheritable diseases and try to negate influences that have an impact on said inheritable factors... I can perfectly imagine people want to have healthy children.

Please stop going to doctors, cease taking all medication, if you ever lose a limb, don't take a prosthetic.

believe what you want, but do not impose your ghastly idealism onto me.

We do not even know how to be human and/or animal never mind so-called 'transhuman'

WHY?...
because of the degrading mind control the same mindset behind H+ imposes on 'the masses' is why.
