He was the Grateful Dead's roadie or something like that. He wrote "Living with the Dead" which is a book that has the reputation of having loads of misconstrued information. Many blame him partially for Jerry's downfall and it doesn't sound like the remaining members of the band care for him too much.

Yeah I enjoyed it too but if you want accuracy, nothing compares to Dennis Mcnally's scholarly masterpiece. Have you read that one?

That's what I like to hear lol. I used to work at a library you know. You should see if they have that new GD photo book callled "Between the Dark and the Light." I was paging through it earlier today at a book store and it has some amazing photographs.

Chinacat and others - what's your opinion on Fast Eddie? What do you think about him? I think I saw him at Bonnaroo and probably a few times on Dead tour, but I don't remember specifics.

Fast Eddie is a narc plain and simple. In the old days he was a major disributer. He got his nickname because he could move paper faster than anybody on the lot. Then he got the nickname Fed Ed because he would get busted and turn on people. I saw him get busted before with a ton of paper by the DEA and was back out on the lot the next day. The feds kept him around to gather info. He used to work with all the familys, but since the late 80's nobody will even talk to him . He has been busted so many times its stagerring. He's kind of a family joke now.

He's at every show and lives on haight street between tours. I normaly wouldn't talk about people from tour , but since he's a icon and works for the feds its ok. I think I mentioned him in a thread last spring, He hasn't been a very good informant since the 80's because he's so far out of the loop. He's basically harmless now. He basically just gets drunk and hits on teenage girls.

As for the wreaking crew or A campers they are a bunch of Fast Eddies buddies that are alcoholics and like to get drunk and fight. They go to rainbow gatherings and the rainbow council had to give them there own camp(A camp) becuase the drink and fight, which is the opposite of what a rainbow gathering is about.
