decided to give the grateful dead a chance
    #2488413 -

I should have done this a long time ago, but I finally listened to a live show I have on my computer by the Grateful Dead (from nugs.net), and I must say.. I LOVE IT.

The tracklist is:
promised land
friend of the devil
mama tried
tennessee jed
stagger lee
estimated prophet (this song rules, listening to it again now)
drums
space
if i had the world to give
around and around
US blues

i think that's the right order.. anyway.. it's from 10-17-1978, Winterland maybe?

anyway.. this show rules. I knew I'd see the light and find love for the Grateful Dead, and I'm now going to get a lot of their stuff at all opportunities.

the beginning of my 'official' shn collection.. but i ran out of cd's and hard drive space to keep it going.. but all the disc's are kept safe in case's. I had downloaded every mp3 show from gdlive awhile ago... took 23 cd's.. i didnt really get to listen to them, i just wanted to make sure i had them. and whenever i wanted to listen to a show, i would download it. I'm going to work on getting a much larger hard drive so i can continue downloading the shows. it's more addicting than crack... it's like "ohhh, i need that show"

67-73 is my favorite era but it does parallel 74-79. The great part about this era is the larger spectrum of songs.. which is totaly awesome. but i still fancy that heavy guitar jerry plays in the early years, along with pigpen... he really does a great job. i love the emotion he puts into it.. really brings the energy.

I love having my entire music collection on my computer. CD's For the car or everwhere else. And backups stored in a safe place along with the hard drive.

yeah! when it all comes together im gonna be constantly downloading and burning untill there is no more to get :gd_icon: The internet is going to make it so much easier in the next few years to get every live recording of the dead and the JGB. So why not take advatage of the best music in the world for free!

i get excited when i think about all the endless dead song ill have to listen too! Ill be strait for the rest of my life...that and some lucy to go with it :gd_icon:

I feel you.

I don't think anyone can top Pink Floyd in my book.. definitely one of my favorite bands, higher on my list than the Dead.
