Im offended by your harsh words and use of foul language. Jerry is crying in his grave right now!
Teh deads music is meh. The ideals and the movement they created were legendary. I'll alwasy respect the dead for what they created, but I still dont have to like their music

i never said you have to like it .... all music is completely subjective.. but calling a band mediocre at the genre that they created is just ignorant

I put my vote to the Dead. Phish is a good jamband, but I think Jerry and the Dead could touch a person's soul, on acid or off, better than Trey or any other jam bander can. So make that 26 for the Grateful Dead .

The Grateful Dead understood subtlety. Their music was zen. THey made you appreciate the intense jams because it came out of the softest, most peaceful music you ever heard. Yin and Yang.
Phish just goes, goes, goes, at typically high intensity as Trey plays 300 million random notes. It wears out my brain, even while trippin'.
The Phish experience is like having a beer chugging contest while the Dead are to me like enjoying a fine wine.
Both can be fun, but one has a little more class.

Well put FocusHawaii. That's why I voted Grateful Dead. Phish is a great band though. But the Dead's lyrics I can relate to on such a higher level than Phish's lyrics. And if auras exist, I would suspect that Jerry's shined a lot brighter than Trey's ever will. That's just my $.02. The last thing I want to do is start a Jerry vs. Trey argument. They're both great guitarists. Maybe Trey is even better on a purely technical level. But Jerry, ........ *drools*

Musically, Phish. Culturally, Grateful Dead.
The dead started a revolution, but phish improved on it.

The Dead by far! Phish is cool and all but nothing I've heard from them can come close to The Dead!
