My thoughts exactly. OTD used to just be a glorious mess, and then this year you guys developed sticks up your asses and banned all the old people who used to entertain me and made up some new rules. Now there's talk of becoming more strict? what is this, an elementary school? It's the internet for shit's sake! It ain't real? If me and Sir Tokes a Lot want to fight like infected anuses, does it really make that much difference? None of us even know each other for the most part so it's not like we really have anything hurtful to say.

You're idiots if you are taking the shit on the "miscellaneous shit" board at all seriously.

edit: I read the thread. Bruiser made it seem more serious than it is. Scratch most of what I said.

Effed and Suffer are my friends in real-life and that isnt going to change because of message board drama.

I was really never one for flame wars, or posting porn threads, or posting gross shit. So why would i care if otd was censored? Because I don't like being treated like a child. The people who want OTD changed are busy bodies.Funny that I have seen some of these complainers start sooo many flame wars in OTD. This whole thing is about people trying to get rid of users they don't like(with changes come bannings). As i stated before ODD and Chat are a bigger threat to the community than OTD ever will be.

The same old faces making 100 posts a day with
little content. If you can't see that, I don't
know how to make you see it.

like being told what to do, but i say you don't like
these changes because you want to contiune to post
pointless shyte, and chat all day on a forum board,
when theres a chat room already.

I came to this forum and posted in Cultivation for a while, trying to learn and soak up as much info as possible. Then of course I found OTD and basically I loved it, it  truly is a one of a kind place. BTW a friend told me that a similar change is going on over at Dextroverse, they are having the same type of problem.. a bunch of retards with no courtesy or respect flooding the community forums with garbage. Their simple solution, behave or be banned. They banned a shitload of users and the board has taken on a new face. That is what I would like to see here, dont worry we arent going to take away your OTD, we are just going to tweak it a bit and get rid of the users that dont deserve to post here.

I got mixed up, it wasn't what you said, but what I inferred from it. I thought you guys were going to start trying to crack down on threads and posts which you considered meaningless or inane.

Yes one of the things thats changed is i was moded, this
makes me look at things differently, and to try to see the
bigger picture, I have errored in my ways in the past, but
some times its good to move on, and attempt to change things
for the better of the whole community, I really belive that
people are getting far to defensive about all this, as I see
it, all thats being asked is for more thought before clicking
"post" a house clean so to speak, nothing new, and nothing
to get your backs up about.
I will still post dribble from time to time in otd, as will
many I'm sure, but i feel the climate there has to change
to a more possitive one.
This rainbow thing alone seems to have brought the otd community together, now if you all take a chill pill, and stop being so defensive, hopefully things will work out in the communitys
favor, including the community insdie the community that is otd :]

I started the whole rainbow thing yesterday. It wasn't about everybody coming together and thinking it's cute. It was to stand up and show how lame this whole thing is. Nobody seems to have any problems with OTD right now, and it's exactly the same way it's been for a while. All this is going to accomplish, is driving up the thread counts in other forums when people have nowhere else to go.

I would say thats the biggest problem with the "punks" who have nothing better to do then put people down, waste others bandwidth, etc, are that they also think, "well its the internet, its not real, so it dosnt matter what i say or do, its just not real". I couldn't agree more. I was all about free speech in OTD until I saw some terrible things written there. It is one thing to be honest. It is entirely another thing to pick on the vulnerable and the dead... like a flock of vultures. Sadly, everything I've ever posted in OTD has been flamed in some way. Just 'cause you can flame doesn't mean you should do it every time you get a chance. Just because you can make fun of somebody's dead father, doesn't mean you should. Just because you can make fun of Ripper's death, doesn't mean you should.

Recently, OTD has been less of a forum and more, a test of free speech. It seems many are just trying to say the most negative things they can think of... just because they can... this has nothing to do with a forum. The word Forum itself has more to do with discussion and argument than flaming. Discussion and argument are both positive things. Flaming is negative.

Let Larry Flint push the free speech envelope (He peddles more porn than OTD anyway :wink:)... let The Shroomery do what it does best. Ethogenic discussion.

I have the right to free speech every day. I am willing to give up some of my rights when I go to somebody else's house.

As much as it can feel like my home... The Shroomery belongs to someone else. The Shroomery has the right to make me follow their rules. If I don't like them, I can go somewhere else. This is The Shroomery, not the OTDery, after all.
