OP, you are wrong. I won't waste too much time explaining why, but you are completely wrong. Take the time to see how people sacrifice themselves for others, and you'll start to understand.

I guess you can say I'm a sociopath.

After dealing with the last 3 guys I got involved with, there is no such thing as romantic love. So many guys just want to play fucking games, even the ones who think they want a relationship. They don't know what the fuck they want. I'm done dating guys and trying to date guys. If I want to play a game I will play some solitaire on my smartphone or something. And then when a guy plays games with me they wonder why I go psycho on them. Like duh asshole don't fucking play games with me or I will play harder and you won't like it.

Humans are social creatures. Functional sociopaths might be helpful to the group, able to make decisions the others couldn't perhaps, but humans need empathy to function properly (at least in so far as nature intended). And of course that's nothing more than chemicals. There is nothing more than chemicals involved in your behaviour, when it comes down to it. Big fucking deal. Any sociopath who does not in fact further the group is simply a liability and a dysfunctional being. Nothing to romanticize.

I've met several "sociopaths" and theres different levels of it.  Its hard to put people in a box.  Thats why I said empathy and sociopathy can mutually exist.  Although arguebly a true sociopath would have to have no empathy but the true sociopaths I've met did appear at least to have some form of empathy but only for their immediate famiy and that may be false anyway.  Its extremely complex to label humans into catagories.

I'm just very interested in the behaviour of people.  If anything I'm an empath and its been a huge hinderance in my life.  I can pick up on others emotions so much its actually painful to me.  Many males see this as a female trait although I'm not a feminine guy - not that it matters - just saying before the attacks come.  People here these days, seem to want to attack people over anything they say.

I asked one of the sociopaths if he would save his drowning mother and he replied "OFC not" I said why and he explained "because it would be risking my own life"  I'd never even considered such a thing before that.  I would risk my life to save any memeber of my family although maybe not nessacerily my friends or strangers.  :tongue:

When I was younger I would of tried to save a stranger or friend but now I definately wouldn't.

Yeah there's a spectrum for sure, but as far as I'm concerned, true sociopaths -not just people who wanna come off as cool and aloof or casual assholes- do not have the capacity for empathy. I thought that was the defining feature. Still many of them are likely useful to some degree.
As for the saving people, that's just shameful.
I don't value the lives of people without any empathy very highly. Worse are people with empathy, who override it to help themselves.
