Famous / well-known drug users ?

I would like to gather a list of famous / well-known people who have used / are using psychedelic drugs. I would also like to study their background a bit... so if you know any links about the subject please post them in here too. :smile:

I heard on TV last weekend that Robert Downey (sp?) Jr. used to be into mushrooms. Your list will be way too long. The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, yea... any good musicians from the 60s.

Claire Booth Luce used LSD on his deathbed as did ldous Huxley, Alan Ginsberg, Edgar Alan Poe was addicted to opiates and alcohol. There are many and there histories have all been written about c=over the years. WE can go all the way back to Ancient Rome to marcus aerelius who was an initiate at the Temple of Dionysius and drank the potion knonw as KyKeon, an LSD ergot potion made from a rye grain indigenous to the Mediterranean region.

Lewis Black the comedian said he used to eat a bunch of acid. Hunter S. Thompson is a massively-known example... though his celebrity is more based on that fact alone after the "fear and loathing" movie...

shit i dunno man... i'm sure the guys in radiohead have dropped a good few. Then there is of course Trent Reznor of nails... There are too many musicians to name...

It doesn't matter if the list gets big.... actually that's what I want. But famous people who have only tried once doesn't get in the list. Most interesting people for the list are scientists, writers and paintters... more well-known the better. So keep posting names if you happen to know...

Ken Kesey, John Lilly, John Beresford, Michael Hollingshead, Stephen Hawkins, Gary Grant made it mnore famous in the early sixties, Glenn Ford.
