Slug problem!!!

Anyone ever have a slug problem. My stropharia patch was completely cleaned by slugs. last night i had an amazing flush. i went outside at three a.m. and Holy cow 4'' slugs everywhere taking chunk after chunk out of my fruits. i picked them up and tossed them but i was no match for them as they still managed to demolish my hole bed. Is there any way of preventing this. When doing a little research i get advice like cutting them in half or putting salt on them. I dont want to kill them (last resort) i just want to prevent this.

Pretty sure anything that would cut their belly would work, correct? I would think some sandpaper might work pretty well. Never tried it though. Never really had much of a problem with slugs thank god. Although my region is plentiful with them.

SALT. Make a Circle of SALT and you will see they won't never cross that circle.

However if you put enough salt, and it rains... the soil would be salty for a few days, then you put more salt the day after.

slugs piss me off a lot, I only ever got the small ones on my outdoor grows though, my worst catastrophe was when birds came and ate a bunch of my cube caps...then shit blackberries all over my stuff...anyway yea copper wire (thick kind and bare) or copper tubing, ive heard they'll still crawl over little 12 guage wire.

the salt could work maybe if you had like the giant kosher flake salt or something but I imagine it wouldn't work well if it rains where you are alot

I use beer traps. I always add a extra spoon full of sugar to beer they flock to it and drown
