I was only 6 or 7 when I lived in France for two years but my dad, who was a mechanical engineer, reported said phenomenon of weak, limpid handshakes the whole time we were living there.  Even top CEOs who he had to meet for business lunches and so forth; they all had the limp swipe down pat.

Cultural differences FTL, I guess?  :lol:

This is why I adhere to a different physical greeting paradigm; stand at a distance of 9 feet and huck chickletts at eachother. The first one to run out of delicious mexican mini-gum is the "elder goat" and has to serve tea and guard the door until the meeting is over.

So far it's only really applicable to a couple of mystery cults I joined last year when I was just signing up for stuff all the time because I was bored, but I think we could see it applied to every day life.

Handshake needs to be firm , otherwise it's not polite (at least in Europe). So: not too firm or squishy(also impolite). I don't like when ppl just touch your hand as with precaution or fear of you being dirty or something. At the end of it all: give me a bloody high five and make it pop, then give a nice smile to each other and go on with your life-day... whatever... :smile:
