did drugs play a role in pre-judieo, christian...and pre-zoroasterism faiths...like all of the abrahamic faiths....were these effected by psycadelics? ritual and religion go hand in hand...

I've always been of the school of belief that psychoactive plants evolved the brains of early humans over long periods of time.

I think I read somewhere that all babies are born with cannabinoid (sp?) recptors in the brain, or something of the like. Anyone know if this fact or a similar one is true? Its been so long i cant remember where I read it.

humans are born with thousands of recptors, cannibinoids bond to specific receptors, 4-ho-dmt bonds to specific recptors. if we didnt have a receptor for it the chemical would be inactive.

I agree with Doctor J, its been known that a certain kind of Ape in Africa still eats Psycoactive roots till this day,(look it up in Google.com) even scientist are starting to belive that this had to do with the speedy transition into the human brain we have today. The also belive thats why humans are spiritual beings, this thought process has been inplamented into our brains already. Thats probably why humans are likeley to have spiritual experiences in their lifetime no matter if you ever tried Psychadelics or not.

I always wonder what would happen if they took a certain species of animal, like squerils and kept them in captivity for like hundreds of years and fed them a healthy dose of Psycoactive foods for that whole period of time. Would we end up wtih a race of intelectual squierls who belive Humans are Gods?
