applying for pizza delivery, licence is suspended

Hi. Need a summer job. Hit up all the papa johns and pizza huts. They need my insurance and license. I got my license, but it's suspended due to a no insurance ticket.  Do these places have the ability to see suspended licenses? I know they do background checks, which i got a weed charge but not worried about it. Id like to go thru with it and see if they find out if its suspended or not. Anyone have a definitive answer?

why not try a job at McDonalds or KFC? no need for a license or any experience from my understanding?

more like why KFC or McDonalds.  Those jobs suck. Delivery is the only fast food ill do. Other than that its industry and bars

More like get off your arse and take any job you can get :facepalm3: if you need money then you have no reason to be picky over what job you get. I mean seriously dude, you will not get a delivery job with no license so all your doing I wasting your own time :thumbdown:

Just came from a job where i was pulling more money than a kfc or mcdonalds. I need a temporary job till i get the one i want. There are several low wage jobs i can go to right now, but thats a last resort. I dont wanna put myself that low.  I thought pizza delivery would be good for the summer and would give me time to works towards what i want. With a minimum wage job like above, i wont be going anywhere. So yeah,  i am kinda pickey about the job i want right now :thumbdown:

They will find out you lied before you get close to getting a pizza delivery job.

The run a driving background check that shows all of your previous tickets, if you're license is valid, etc...

They have to to cover their ass for insurance and shit.



I know a lot of pizza delivery drivers and how pizza shops are ran, I've seen managers run the check before.

delivering pizza isnt very lucrative anyways. You pay for your own gas, maintenance and insurance.

Well actually sounds like you only pay for 2 of those 3, so hey, maybe it will work out for ya.

Actually delivering pizza can be pretty lucrative.

I've seen people pull in over $25/hr quite often delivering pizzas, that's before expenses, but that's still good for such an easy entry level job.

I delivered pizza for 3 years. Used to pull in 100+ in tips plus 7.50$ an hour for commission and you get money for gas. Used to bank over there. Think my last job was better thou. Id make over 100+ $ for 4-5 hours work plus commission.  Having made decent amounts of money in the past us why ireally don't wanna settle for a minimum wage job. Tips is where it's at unless you have a trade line machining or something

I went from making 6 grand a month in a job I actually enjoyed doing to making less than 1k a month doing retail and dealing with bullshit all day because I can't currently find work in the field I want to work in and have the certifications. A job is a job. You take what you can get. If you're not going to 'lower yourself' to whatever you think is low, then you're just not desperate enough yet. I said I would never work retail, but here I am, doing exactly that.

Take what you can get now, work on getting the job you want afterwards. And yeah, if you're in the US you aren't getting a job delivering anything with a suspended license. On the off chance you somehow fall through the cracks, it won't last long and will probably put you in more legal problems than you're already in.

Since you can't even manage to maintain a driver's license, you might want to give fast food a try.  It's probably less challenging.

I understand you have current money issues. Otherwise a no insurance ticket goes away easily if there was no accident. You just show up in court with your new insurance, they give you a fine and then everything's smooth. I'm guessing you already know that and didn't have the money to deal with it.

    Getting a driving job is a no go. Every pizza chain or independent place is going to require credentials for license/insurance. They have too much liability.
Even if you somehow got past that, police will routinely run your plates at a red light. Plus, who delivers and doesn't drive aggressively.

    I agree that a previous weed charge is no problem. There is no cooler industry than pizza for that. Also for drug testing. One of my friends got a job driving for a chain because he didn't want to clean up for a test. As usually happens, the boss was smoking him up in the first month. Now my friend is mad because they basically forced him to become a manager.

well, at the time i didnt have insurance and also was paying 3 counties for fines ranging from possession, to speeding to no insurance.  I wouldve done the insurance probation but you need money for that. Its like your punishment for not having enough money is paying more money. Over the past year, ive paid roughly $2000 to the courts for all this bullshit. I have insurance now, but it doesnt cause this ticket is from a year or so ago. Wish i could just sit in jail. Might be a bet since im not working atm. IDK if they let me thou. The government is like a neverending cycle of trying to keep people poor and take their money for whatever reason they can. Gets rough when you have rent and phone and cost of living and stuff. Sometimes i wish i could just abandon this country
