Re: The Gospel of Mary Magdalene [Re: Deiymiyan]

Another term for grail is chalice, the holiest chalice was between Mary's legs... especially if she did the old bump and grind with Jesus.

http://www.artchive.com/artchive/L/leonardo/lastsupp.jpg.html

Look at Da Vinci's last Supper. Who sits on the right side of Christ? Not Peter, Peter's on the left... making a threatening gesture towards... a woman?

Look closely.

Da Vinci knew how to draw men and women.

Who would sit on Christ's right side if it wasn't Peter? Mary of Magdaline would.

Most important, If this is the Last Supper, where is the Holy Grail? It isn't in the picture. He added the bread but there are no cups at all. Surely, Da Vinci would have included the most infamous part of the last supper in his portrait. Or is the grail in the picture after all?

The shape of Jesus and Mary's bodys make a "V" or a "Y" The shape of a chalice.

Yeah, that is a little subjective but it is what I heard.

It does look like he's pointing at the woman but it is a little unclear.

Peter is definately not sitting at Jesus' right hand.

It would in the day Da Vinci painted the picture. The Grail was also very famous at that time.

Supposedly, the colors on Jesus and Mary's sash are telling. Sort of a yin yang idea. They compliment each other. Jesus wears blue and red/orange, Mary wears baby blue and pink/peach the feminine equivilent of Jesus' garb.

They're certainly wearing similar outfits... perhaps to imply a relationship. Their outfits mirror each other's.

Look at what the other apostles are wearing. Nothing like Jesus or Mary. I'm callin her Mary!

Mary and Jesus' clothes further paint the Grail.

They are holding hands. This completes the image.

A very feminine looking Grail if you ask me.

Re: The Gospel of Mary Magdalene [Re: fireworks_god]

His homosexuality is important to his views towards Christianity, fireworks_god. I'm glad you brought it up.

As a homosexual, Leo embraced femininity in a different way than his contemporary, (ahem,) heterosexual (cough...) Christian counterparts.

He was upset at the Catholic Church for editing the New Testiment (around 200 AD) this is when books like the Gospel of Mary disapeared.

Mary was re-cast as a whore. And Jesus was painted as single.

This was a simple way of getting the Earth and Godess loving Pagans to agree with the Christian way.

In order to convince Pagans to believe in Christianity, they had to take power away from pagan females. This is when witch hunting began. This is why Paganism and women, to this day, are connected with witchcraft.

The Christian Church decided, at the same time, to connect Christianity's big holidays with the Pagan Solstice holidays. This was a way to draw even more Pagans into the Church.

Leonardo Da Vinci knew all this and he knew how Clergy are taught their Church history in Davinity School. Compounded by the Church's views towards homosexuality, Leonardo Da Vinci loved sticking it to the Church. Especially when they comissioned him to work for them.

Leonardo was a great and famous artist... he put his views of the church in plain sight.

Too bad he couldn't draw a vagina, though, eh? (anyone else ever seen that sketch?)

Just kidding, of course, it doesn't matter.

I have always hated how people could take the Bible and change it to make it more acceptible to others.. It wasn't like Jesus changed his message when he was preaching it to appease the people that disagreed with him... of course, what sucks is that all our knowledge of his ideas come from the same book that others changed to fit their own needs, so fuck my ole' boots...
Peace.

Awesome search and posting Cervantes !!!!

I have a question though, concerning the Last Supper illustration you supplied..

If that is The Last Supper,  then who wasn't invited?????

There are 13 individuals at that table..  12+ Jesus.

There were 12 known close friends of Jesus..  +Mary ..  That should make 13.

So, if that is Mary,  who was not allowed to join the party?  :oogle:

It suggests Peter is to the right of Mary and it calls Mary... wait for it... John.

I don't know who decided which apostle is which.
