Last weekend i went on a little mushroom expedition and i would like to share some pictures i made with you all.
The habitat, moist fields on sandy soil grazed by sheep and horses.
Some lovely little colorfull fungi:
Mycena Epipterygia
Aleuria Aurantia (orange peel fungus)
I dont know this one..
On to the actives, liberty caps!
A little collection..
Indication of how long the grass is in the field, long stems!
A close up
When i walked back to the car, i noticed these mushrooms along the path. They were growing in the grass along a little ditch filled with water beneath some trees. They are to big to be liberty caps and are allready a little sun dried. The golden color is what caught my eye (like libs and cubes) and i stopped to take a closer look. I peeled of the grass that sticked to the cap of the bigger one and i noticed that the cap was staining blue beneath.
Also the base of the stem was showing significant blue staining.
Cigar brown gills..

The smaller specimen showed even more intense staining at the margin.

At home the stems turned a very dark blue were i bruised them.
As far as i know the only actives that can stain this much in holland are psilocybe cyanescens but these mushrooms dont resemble ps cyanescens. (brown gills and no wavy caps) I know the age of the mushrooms makes it hard to make an id but does anyone have an idea of what species this could be?
I hope you enjoyed the pictures. Happy shrooming to you all.

Nice job, kaal-kopje! I'd love to find some semis 'round here, but haven't looked for good spots yet...mostly hunting in wooded areas. Perhaps i'll find some cyans one day.
Very nice pics btw, what kind of camera are you using?

Thanks everyone.
Koraks what part of holland are you located in? I'm using a minolta dimage Xt, i like it because its very small and easily fits in my pocket. However its not really suitable for very closeup shots because of its limited macro range. (15 cm)
And after some more carefull consideration i suspect those last 2 mushrooms to be psilocybe caerulea.

This is really just a guess, but could that mystery shroom be Panaeolus fimiteria? (spelling probably wrong?).
This is a moderately active mushroom, and it apparently grows in the UK, and I think in other northern European countries. Check Paul Stamets "psilocybin mushrooms of the world" for more details.
Superb pictures by the way.

Sinbad, there is no mushroom called Panaeolus fimetaria. IT is Psilocybe fimetaria which macroscopically is the same as Psilocybe stuntzii (blue ringers. They are rare and grow from manure in pastures. In man made environments inthe PNW they are common in lawms with manured fertilizers.

Did a mushroom hunt in Holland, Friesland, as well. Found these (in all the right conditions and habitat) but as you see on the picture; some just a little pointy, some really clearly with nipple, and some almost not pointy (but found those a meter away from the nipply ones). Since there are very different Semi's and i'm not sure about the stem (very dark and max 2 mm thin), i'm wondering if any of you, maybe kaal-kopje??, maybe knows of these variations around here in the North. Thanx!

BTW; the one little dried on the 2nd picture IS a Semi, found it standing on it's own in between really long -blown down- grass, somewhere else some day's ago.
