The Akashic Records

Seems to be an entertaining thought in my mind as of late..
I haven't really dived into the study of this idea but am curious to what my brethren here in S&M think of this concept..

Anybody think they've encountered this realm or have any wild thoughts about the origin of this idea? :ancientaliens:

There is something...
I have no logical explanation of where else it could come from during that period of profound insight.
It could be argued it was burried deep in subconscious from something i red ages ago, but I have to say
I wasn't even remotely interested in anything like it, so it's highly unlikely I ever read it.
Then there's geniouses.. Mozart, Tesla, Einstein all claim they just got their ideas doing exactly opposite of thinking about it.
I would go as far as suspect that we are actually constantly connected to this "Field of all knowledge" as Zeland calls it. Everything we know even in this moment is directly accessed on this cosmic hard drive, not each of us carring our personal CD. We just have limited access in order for this "simulation" to work as intended.
Separation is an illusion. There is only one of us.

When I went through my new age phase there was talk of these thing (akashic records), unfortunately different new age channelers I studied would read different, contradicting information from the akashic records. This was just one of my many frustrations with the new age movement, which I eventually left and converted to Christianity where we do not speak of things like the akashic records.

of course none of this means it is not possible to access the akashic records bur unril I experience them myself, or hear from someone I trust fully, I am not going to think about them.

Upon a google search it does seem quite new-agey.
And I define "new-age" moreso as a gimmick to make money rather than a spiritual pursuit.

I'm still up for the discussion though.
The thought is still open for me, for I'm somewhat under the impression we don't do anything.  Everything does us which leads me to wonder, why?

Edgar Cayce claimed to be able to access the halls of Akashic records.  When he was alive he helped alot of people by examining them then going into a meditative state of mind.  He'd then come back and tell them exactly what their body needed to get well again.

Interesting thing about this guy to me was that even Houdini couldn't prove he was a fake.  And if you know anything about Houdini you know he was really into ousting con-men as his mother had gotten conned by a snake oil salesmen and ended up dieing when he was a kid. 
I'm pretty sure there are still healing centers based on Cayce's work out there still today.

Akasha itself is a sanskrt word, which suggests it's ancient. I know new age takes all the old concepts, mixing them into a "new" concept, but the basic idea truly is older than our civilization.
Fitting something into a label, call it new age or christianity or hinduism, then dismissing it, because everything under that label is wrong can rob you of possible truths.
For instance, there is no denying that the Dogon tribe in Africa has a detailed knowledge of vesica pisces star system, that we could only confirm with modern day space telescopes. I+m much more inclined to believe that this knowledge is more linked to akashic records and iboga, than actual aliens.
I think it was Maharishi who said something like "I don't need to exit the door of my house to know the universe."

I find the idea plausible, I just don't see anything of substance when I google it..It was a half-assed google attempt perhaps :shrug:

In all honesty I feel like I've had (probably like most of you) bizarre psychedelic trips which brought me to a realm where everything seemed checked and balanced and everything just made absolute sense and this life was a blip on the bigger radar of being, which upon reflection much time later makes me curious as I partake in spiritual ideologies moving forward.

I'm gonna check out this Cayce fella. :thumbup:

I'm one who likes to think they were visited by extraterrestrials from the Dog star system.  Now Whether or not that was through visions or physically coming here has yet to be seen.  But its a neat idea nonetheless.
I've always been fascinated by the idea that in order to go further out, you have to go deeper in.

The book he wrote with Bob Shea "The Illuminatis Trilogy" set mind bombs in my subconscious.  I mean years later they're still really integrating themselves into my life.  Probably the most subversive piece of literature I've read; Joyce on Acid.
