I do call them but what the hell it isn't like I want to blow up their phone every day man when they got a family and a job. People be working and shit I don't know how old you are but most of my friends have that 9-5 job and a lot of em have kids at this point and if I want to leave them something funny to watch or share something or potentially make plans I can just leave them a heads up.

I get what you're saying dude talking in person or on the phone is a bigger gesture but there is a time and place for everything.

Why do you post on the shoomrery dude? It's just text and yet it can be so personal on here. The only thing lacking is the emotion you get from voice which you can be explicit through text or even just the tone of the writing.

I just don't get it really whats with all the hate I mean I guess they are jelly they aint billionaires or some shit :shrug:

My gf feels like you do OP, comparing herself to others and getting depressed.  Seeing what others are up to on facebook.  It does no good to do so.

Never had a facebook account, never will.  I find it to be rather pathetic.:shrug:

I actually was pretty cool with the stuff people posted on Facebook. Even shit like oh I had extra bacon this morning. The reason why I quit Facebook is because I didn't like the actual web design. It wasn't smooth at all and it doesn't let you control your own shit. Facebook is bad news for alcoholics and stoners like me. I can't have my peeps knowing about my peeps if you know what I mean.

Sidenote: it's weird when someone dies and their Facebook page just floats on like some kind of ghost.

Theres no way I can look at certain peoples facebook pages without feeling depressed, to look at their pages would be unhealthy. Some of them blocked me from looking at their pages. Not all.  And some have pages that are not private. I could view their pages on a unblocked name but I dont want to look in the first place.

If they were such good friends, why did you not keep in contact with them?

That's absurd I don't know any billionaires, or for that matter anyone who's life is remotely enviable to myself. If I wanted to live another lifestyle, I would.

Bookface is just a highlight reel. People in foreign countries will get stuff like shigella or giardia. Everyone drops a deuce once a day and wiping their ass all the same. Don't get me wrong I love the few childhood friends I know and love but everything is inflated or shifty details about how bad it was getting there or their visas expired or whatever. Hardly anyone will be open on bface. Everyone's got their own problems like rent or mortgage but just enjoy the fact that people you love are living the dream. Embrace their success and happiness. More than half of that stuff posted is to make people jealous of others revelry.

Not really, I don't have old friends and family on here that I mainly communicate with through text because its easier - gradually reducing the amount of real contact we have over time.

Also not reconnecting with a bunch of old relationships which ended for a reason and are now kept around in a very contrived manner for the sake of keeping up appearances (as well to use as a weak off-hand emotional crutch).

I was referring more to the other complaints though. Like the ones made in the OP, or someone said how on Facebook people post stupid nonsense, or they use it as a tool to inflate their egos. I'd say the majority of the complaints made in this thread pertain to the Shroomery as well. Really they pertain to life in general.

That can and does happen, but like with facebook its not necessarily the case. You can use either medium to promote your social life, meet new people or keep up your network.
