    #19921415 -

and it was such a great movie. i was like "see Mom? you ARE a bitch.":yesnod:

Discuss old movies that were perfect to watch when you were young.

oh yeah PS: the time i started to really get into films, (and not sneaking downstairs to see the T-1000 come together into the puddle of goo, and shit like Dracula, as my parents watched it. fuck that shit freaked me out) i watched a Clockwork Orange and Full Metal Jacket, and fuckin' Platoon. why step-dad... why y do dis? but no, really, who doesn't wanna see the guy who gets his face bashed in with a gun butt in Platoon, again, after ADDing out, while watching the movie with your step-dad, and completely missing the scene, while your step-dad looks on in disgust. :smilingpuppy: thanks rewind )

Good movie. Love getting caught off guard by those. I can't remember all the ones that did though. Sorry, filmmakers.

i watched Night of the Living Dead at age 9-10 with my dad... it was around 3:00 when my dad passed out during the climax of the movie, and the girl had turned and well, she kills her mother. brutally.

well, yeah, i wasnt scared at all until up to that point where i realized my dad was asleep and i was seeing the most terrifying (and hearing) shit  i have ever...

i dont think i slept that night.

The Hustler.

Paul Newman, Jackie Gleason, George F. Scott.  That cast is legendary.  The camera work on the table as they're running the racks.
This scene... Just Wow.

That flick made me get my ass in pool halls and attempt to shark people.  Had a run at it for a while until my bank roll got snatched by an ol' grifter.  Bastard brought in his own sneaky pete I shoulda known.

 ouch, what a bitch.

yeah, i haven't seen the Hustler cept on TV (and when shits on TV, i never am really paying full attention) i should definitely get that. it's a classic. plus, Paul Newman... if i ever had a man crush, it'd probably Newman. he exudes awesomeness.

but yeah, that's awesome that that movie influenced you so, cool! pool is an awesome sport and hustling is well, it's a larf. you can make some good gravy or you can get yourself killed. game of life.

PS: shit got pretty serious at the end of that scene. "you're not a loser, you're a winner Eddy. some men don't get to feel that way about anything I LOVE YOU"

WHOA B, slow your roll.

its only not old enough if you were. if you were young and impressionable and it made an impression on you, lets discuss it here.

Good Will Hunting is a great movie for when your young. Robin Williams makes everything cool. plus the janitor... really

fuckin awesome movie.

that movie is deep deep deep. the feels man.

I remember when I was young Vanilla Sky left a pretty big impression on me. "Everything in it's Right Place" by Radiohead playing in the intro, at that time I was in high school and a Radiohead fan. Trippy movie.

The Truman Show is also trippy, but, it's not really saying anything new I feel. The message is something that everyone kind of already knows about, so, I kind of felt even though it's well made and a great movie, it's not Vanilla Sky status.
