Burnout surfers, How do you think most of the good weed got circulated around the world? It was Viet Nam VETs and traveling surfers in the 70s who brought back viable seeds grow to cross and create a lot of strains. bunch of good for nothing potheads,all said while I smoke my bruce banner at 8am to get the FRIDAY started.  I love surfing too. Been all over the south pacific, Tonga, Fiji, Samoa, Hawaiian Islands, Norcal down to Socal, and all over the Atlantic from the Caribbean to Cestpool N.Jersey dirty water isn't my thing. Now I'm in FLATASS Florida waiting for my next trip outta here. Surfing showed me the world!

Ever surf in El Salvador?  I met some Florida surfers there who caught better waves every day of their six-week trip than they ever did in Florida.

I suck at surfing but I'm really into it.  At some point in the next 5-6 years I need to set aside a proper half year to do nothing but surf, eat burritos, and drink beer.

All thru central America from El Salvador- Costa Rica& Panama(Pacific & Caribbean both sides)Venezuela. If your going to try to surf I suggest a trip to somewhere mellow to start out like Costa Rica or maybe EL Salvador but they can both be done with the least amount of $. The pic in my sig is of Santa Catalina, Panamá(pacific). Its not easy to surf but starting out in small, clean waves at a beachbreak or a soft pointbreak can get you familiar with mother ocean. The best place to learn to surf is Waikiki,HI southshore Oahu hands down, anyone can surf and be able to stand-up on the first session there, GUARANTEED. Just be smart when chosing a place to surf, cause a lot of breaks have rock-reef bottoms, also be aware of other surfers in the line-up we all hate crowds in the water, and can be assholes when someone who is learning keeps getting in the way.

I'm not a pure beginner, I've surfed a few times and can catch waves.  I started surfing at Waikiki (and Diamondhead, and later at some bigger breaks further north and on the west side of Oahu), and I surfed in El Salvador for two weeks just a couple months ago.  It was pretty intense and the waves were above my level most days, but I got some good sessions in.

I think I'd like to do a Morocco/Portugal surf trip next.:laugh:

Never been to Europe but always wanted to hit France, Spain, Morocco, Portugal, and others. Lived on Oahu for 3yrs and surfed everyside  depending on the season & swell direction, but loved Northshore"country", and upper Westside for the real swells. For me its all been about being able to paddleout on my own power and use little besides a good board, baggies, and some sunscreen, preceded and followed by ceremonial joint of something local & KIND.

Crickey:  You fellas sure do get around.  I've surfed the same Oregon coast in a wetsuit for 25 years.  Worn-out, creaky shoulders,
compressed vertebrae in my neck from paddling...

First thing start a corporation in Panama in order to purchase land keep it with yearly taxes, but you acquire it for only 99yrs, then it can be updated by whoever picks up the land, this is if you are trying to buy land 5 yrs ago and didn't want to pay some enormous tax because your not Panamanian, they kill you with that but there is ways around it, kinda. Also never leave your house unguarded for more than 3months.
