It's kind of a crazy idea. Just thinking out loud. Probably won't benefit you unless you like crazy ideas.

The lab method of growing mushrooms is like this:
- Mix up agar gel
- Sterilize it in a PC then pour the liquid into dishes in a laminar flow hood, and it solidifies.
inoculate it with a culture, and watch it grow.
Cut out a nice section of agar with mycelium on it, plop it on some grain.
Grow that out
Add it to a bag of supplemented sawdust.
Wait,
Harvest.

If you don't have any glove box or flow hood (I use a glove box. Very inexpensive);
All those steps could be rolled into one bag.

Put the agar in the bottom of the bag so when it melts it stays put.
When it cools it solidifies inside the sealed sterile bag, with grain and sawdust.

A big downside is you can't watch the agar for contamination and cull out the bad sections. Also, you can't do agar to agar inoculations. Like I said I don't like liquid cultures.

oh ok i get it.  well, i guess i'd rather know for sure my culture is clean before i noc stuff up
adding the grain to the sawdust bag pre PC gives the myc something more to grab onto, similar to ur agar in the bag idea.

oddly enough i did an Enoki lc straight to supplemented sawdust and it caught hold over a week later.  my oysters are not doing the same thing.  i didn't expect anything really
