So here we go full circle again lol.
The thing is I see where you're coming from, but you're just spouting a bunch of stuff you read from books. I'm suggesting a logical plan that is practical, realistic and works... I even have the physique and strength to back up what I'm saying, I don't need to spout stuff from books, I have experience and know what I'm talking about. Everything you say, I know it all already but there's a difference between being well read and knowing how to PRACTICALLY get results. You say you're 185lbs at 6"2? Sounds pretty skinny to me, I'm heavier than that at 5"10 and with abs. Too confident as you say? Pffft so what, I can be as confident as I want.
But you go about nitpicking my posts without acknowledging the entire concept, you pick out sentences, take them out of context and use that as your argument. Did I say powerlifting doesn't require form? Of course it does but you are still just aiming to get the weight from point A to point B, setup being very important as well as tightness and solidity throughout the movement. Bodybuilding is more freestyle yes, but by using the word "form" (probably a mistake with your nitpicking ass) I meant that its all about lifting in a manner to stimulate the muscle fibers the most as opposed to heavy weight. You seem better suited to being an English teacher or something, picking apart people's essays and correcting them on how its written. Got some tunnel vision there too as you can't seem to grasp the concept of what I'm saying as a whole. On the other hand, I understand 100% what you're saying but again, you talk the talk but know very little about walking the walk.
So here we go back to the beginning. 1. Progression. 2. Consistency. 3. Patience. Thats the simple basis of it, follow that and you'll get results. Sure everyone's different but personal adjustments can always be made to suit the individual. But here you come, trying to make it sound like rocket science. I'm sick of people doing that as it just confuses people who want to get stronger or get into shape. I get it all the time when I'm trying to train someone new and they start going on about all this bullshit they read. Too much reading and thinking, not enough of kicking their ass in the gym.
But I do advise all newbies get guidance in the gym, get a good trainer that can teach you how to squat, bench and deadlift correctly, and how to utilise mind/muscle connection in all your lifting. Be weary of trainers like XUL here though, they'll just hammer your brain with a bunch of bullshit haha. Make sure you get someone that looks like they don't just talk the talk, they walk the walk.
BTW you made me LOL with your comment about eating chicken like a barbarian... Are you female?

Eat the majority of your calories from animals foods (LOTS of fat). Eat lots of veggies and fruits also.
If you burn fat as your main calorie source, your body will burn your fat stores easier.
Train fasted. Train Hard. Kettlebells and deadlifts.
Keto diets work and they work really well for some... but aren't for everyone. Some people need heaps of carbs. I for one had a lot more success at getting lean while eating more than 400g of carbs on workout days and less on non workout days. I felt much stronger than I did on keto, my muscles were fuller and I trained harder at a higher intensity so I burnt fat more effectively. I personally had more success at high protein/carb and low fat diets than high protein/fat and low carb diets.

I think you and I are very different people. Books, to me, are not used in order to memorize a heap of useless facts or to impress people. They are used to aquire an overall understanding on a target subject. Furthermore, science books and the vocabulary in those books is relative to most people, which makes discussing the target subject easier because everybody is educated with the same terminology. e.g. muscle mind control as compared to neuromuscular adaptations.

The NSCA's CSCSs (certified strength and conditioning specialists) are trained to talk in layman terms when coaching or instructing. As are EMT's and combat medics when providing treatment to a patient or soldier.

squat, bench and deadlift correctly,
Of course I know how.

If you look back you will notice that I have not once taken any personal shots at Kamoonstinoops. I am simply enjoying a conversation about fitness. Although I can not say the same for Kamoonstinoops.

Celestial Traveler said: My workout life pretty much consists of wild cycles, where I'll go a couple/few months at a time bulking up, and get REALLY big, gain a lot of muscle, have a lot of strength, etc., but also gain a lot of body fat, love handles, a belly, etc.
Then, I'll begin a toning phase where I try to burn fat, and succeed but in doing so I'll lose a crapton of muscle and become really scrawny.
I could actually probably be a pretty good powerlifter if school and work didn't get in the way and I got enough sleep, food, and time to dedicate to it, because I gain a lot of muscle pretty quickly in my bulking phase.
But I'm tired of going through these huge transformative cycles. I want to gain a lot of muscle, then cut down and keep my muscle at the same time. How can I do this? Any tips?
with regular workout yu need balanced diet too i think you should consult a doctor for building muscle mass, a doctor can consult you better according to your routine...
