The hippie movement is rekindling (it will be stronger then before) * 2

It's coming back, and bigger then it was in the 60's. With a wider reach and base.

These aren't ideals, this is an honest prediction based on the type of music that is coming back around and the direction I see my generation heading. It may not be Mud-Acid-Music crazy like Woodstock days, but the peace and love movement is churning back up for round 2.

You couldn't be more correct my man.  I've already started the new trend of trippy pants and got a handful of people to own a pair.  Wore em as I spoke to a church once.

The music is becoming trippier, the clothes, even in more urbanized stores I have noticed increasingly trippy clothing.


What do you all have against hippies exactly?  They speak of peace, love and equality, what's wrong with that?

Governments go against all of those principles, there's no conspiracy, their name literally means to control.

If you really open your eye's to the culture right now it's terribly clear that the direction is set on Peace and Love. As far as the youth go, that is.

Like Greenterror said, start with the fashion, look at what's coming back. Now listen to the new and popular wave of folk and 60's revival that's been hitting the air. You'll see it.

there's been a 'hippie' movement every generation since there has been a monoculture to be counter to.

the result is typically a temporary, false drug induced unity amongst a marginal demographic that eventually falls apart like the house of cards it always was and then everybody gets re-assimilated into the dog eat dog consumer capitalist paradigm.

that's a brief summation of how it usually it plays out. the world is huge and there are tons of people on it, with so many different ways of living. the 'hippie' lifestyle is a small subculture that is easily swallowed up by the machine.
