Karo Jar NOT Producing???

My friend inoculated his karo jar on 9/21 and the jar is as clear as the day he injected. He used the 100ml water to 1 tsp karo teck, pc'd for 20min let cool for several hours till cold to touch and, unlike his first attempt wich came out carmelized yellow this jar was crystal clear. He inaculated with 1cc of Koh Samui Super from Hawk. Should give up on this jar? Try to inject again? Give it more time?
Any haelp would be great!

maybe the water was still hot. try waiting a full 24. the spores could be bad.

give it a little more time, myc is funny like that sometimes. did you let the jars completely cool before you knocked them up ?

I'd say there is a chance the jarz were too hot, but it's a small one since he got a little impatient about and put the hot jar in a one the large yogurt container (sterilized), then then put the them both in a pot of cold water. His argument for this was, "the only way the first jar could have carmelized, was because it sat in the preasure cooker until cool" , so he thought it kept cooking beyond the 20 min. Sounds possible, but the guy's a little hard headed, so there was no talking him out of it. so I suggested the a sealed cooling container, since he left the jar lid loose, as soon as the jar cooles, it ofcourse is going to suck in non sterile air. Anyway, all that said, He is much less particular than me, :wink: so there is a chance it was too hot. How long should he give it before he knows it's just a lost cause. It's been 10 days now.
