Flappy Bird maker discontinuing the game

Flappy Bird maker is the ultimate hipster. His game rakes in $50k/day from advertising, and he's discontinuing the game due to the massive amount of attention its getting from the media.

I know it may seem silly for him to discontinue the game but I got to respect the guy. He stays true to who he is and he doesn't let money dictate how he lives his life. Respect.

IMO money only starts dictating your life once you let it get control of you. If he really dislikes money that much, he could keep the game, and donate the money to charity :shrug:

It's obviously his decision, but it's pretty lame IMO. There's tons of people enjoying his game, and he's raking in cash. Why bother ruining the fun for both parties? Besides, in a little bit of time another new game will pop up and the attention will shift from his to the new one.

It's got like over 20,000,000 million downloads and a bunch of people will download it today. Everyone will get their fun. He doesn't seem to be too into the attention, the money, or anything else that's come along with this random success. From comments I've read from him he seems pretty unhappy with the whole situation.

I'm sure the money isn't the primary issue anyway, he was raking in like $50k a day.

It's pretty fun. It's addicting because it's really hard. Oh well someone will just replacw the bird and the tubes and get the money anyway. Oh boo hoo major news networks talk about my game. It's the most popular game in the world and I make more in a day than most people make in a year.
