Astrology and Personalities
    #19329223 -

Ive been reading a lot on Astrology and how it relates to Personality, and its frickin eerie dudes.

It seems soooooo accurate very frequently.

Im a Scorpio and it seems to match up with me very well.

This website even shows 3 variations of one sign given 3 date windows in which the person was born. So weird and accurate!

Im using it to meet a new girlfriend who I can be compatible with and to anticipate potential issues.

Here's that website: 12 Signs of the Zodiac

Here's another website with Astrology descriptions. Again, frickin accurate: Zodiac Signs of Astrology

Anyone read up on these? Do you guys believe in this stuff too?

I believe in the stars.

Not too sure. It's like reading symptoms of mental illnesses and having multiple symptoms mstch. It does seem to relate to a degree..

It's simply a matter of mentally highlighting things that match, and ignoring/dismissing those that don't.  It is a classic example of Confirmation Bias

most if not all of the statements you find that describe personalities born from different dates and what not, are "Barnum statements" which are statements that are vague and can pertain to many people

By that standard, there would only be twelve types of people...

That is the flaw of it... it doesnt predict the variables... maybe one time in the past, or the future it will be so,  but not  now...

I read the first one just to humour it. I actually learned some new stuff about astrology. But as cool as it is I've always been under the assumption they're using broad terms in lieu of actual prediction.

It's amazing how all twelve signs describe me so well. I must be human.

I always find astrology amusing, most places don't realize that due to precession your actually an astrological symbol back as of a couple a years ago. So even if it was real, they're all wrong anyways.

Well, I have been thinking about the how does astrology work and its true there is no explanations, so its non-scientific.

I just smoked some shakes from my new clear durable bong and I had a thought of the explaniation.

What if the day your born, your mind is exposed to this force, maybe caused by gravity, that is created from the Earth being in a specific spot in time and space when you were born. Like some kind of "gravity bubble" that affects your personality just from the exposure to it as a baby being born into the world. it sounds like something from Star Trek: TNG, like those weird "temporal rifts" they go thru sometimes.

I mention born into, cause this website says "Why birth and not conception?". And thats my theory for that.

Anyway, thats my explanation of Astrology.
