my great grandmother lived to 103.  Strangely enough she drank a hefty amount and smoked until her final years.

Im starting to believe the key to longevity is presevation of cells via alcohol

:laugh:Hehe!  Nah... I wont post no pics.  The oldest person alive is 190 something, I think 193 if I'm not mistaken.  Its an asian man who smokes opium as far as I know.
I dont know the age of anybody in my family... well not precisely, I always accidently offend my mom like that, lol.  I think my grandparents are between late 70's and early 80's, but they are very fit and active for their age... maybe they are smoking opium ???

My great grandmother lived to be 85 or so. 2 of my grandparents died before they were 60, the other two are in their 80s and unlikely to live much longer. A search on google for 'oldest living person' got this article:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/3110525.stm
about a Chechnian woman who claims to be 124 years old, older than the oldest confirmed Japanese woman of 116.

World's Oldest Person, 114, Dies in Japan

Associated Press (Nov 13, 06:21 AM) A 114-year-old Japanese woman who had assumed the title of the world's oldest person just weeks ago died Thursday, a city spokesman in Hiroshima said.
Mitoyo Kawate, born on May 15, 1889, died of pneumonia, said Masatoshi Yamada. Kawate had been hospitalized earlier in the day when her condition worsened.

London-based Guinness World Records recognized Kawate as the oldest person alive on Oct. 31 after the previous record-holder, Kamato Hongo from southern Japan, passed away.

It was not immediately clear who the world's oldest person is now that Kawate has died. It may be Ura Koyama, a 113-year-old woman from the southern main island of Kyushu, who became Japan's oldest person. Koyama was born Aug. 30, 1890.

Kawate, who had four children, was a farmer in Hiroshima until she was 100 years old, Yamada said. She is survived by a son and a daughter, but details about grandchildren or other relatives were not immediately available.

Kawate had a weakness for custard cakes and liked to sing, but her condition had weakened in the past two years, a caretaker said earlier this month. She had lived in a nursing home for the past 10 years.

Japan has lost three world record holders for longevity in recent months. Hongo's death was preceded by the death of the world's oldest man, 114-year-old Yukichi Chuganji, on Sept. 29.

Kameni Nakamura, 109-year-old man in Okinawa prefecture, is Japan's oldest man.

Japan leads the world in longevity thanks in part, experts say, to the traditional Japanese diet which is low in fatty foods.

The country's life expectancy - 85.23 years for women and 78.32 for men in 2002 - is the longest in the world.

According to the London-based records organization, the world's oldest person with an authenticated birth record was Frenchwoman Jeanne Calment, who died in 1997 at age 122.

The family of an Albanian woman, Hava Rexha, said to be 123 years old had, also claimed the title of the world's oldest person, and had tried to get Guinness to recognize her as such before her death earlier this month.

Rexha was said to have been born on Aug. 14, 1880, but didn't receive a birth certificate until 1946. She lived south of Albania's capital of Tirana and died last weekend.

I guess the BBC article I posted is out of date - the Japanese woman it mentioned was Kamato Hongo, who's dead now.

Ok, so maybe the oldest recorded person ever lived was 190 something (oposed the oldest person still alive). Check the first pages of the bible out, the first people alive lived to 600 (more and less), curious.

Oldest Woman Ever
The oldest fully authenticated age to which any human has ever lived is 122 years and 164 days, by Jeanne-Louise Calment. She was born in France on February 21, 1875, and died at a nursing home in Arles, southern France on August 4, 1997. President Jacques Chirac once said Jean Calment was a little bit like a grandmother to everyone in France. She was 14 when the Eiffel Tower was completed in 1889. She led an extremely active life, taking up fencing at 85 years old, and was still riding a bicycle at 100. She portrayed herself at the age of 114 in the film Vincent And Me, to become the oldest actress in film.

Hell no!!! It just sucks to feel that old. I want to grow to be far older than any of those people. I just want to look and feel like I did when I was 20.

well i agree that the bible isnt the most trustworthy source of information but i do belive its possible and have happened that people have grown older than this. we have no idea what really have happened in ancient history (thanks to the roman church and the last 1000 years of rewriting everything) but there is myths and legends in all parts of europe about people who grow this old and older specially in nordic and teutonic myths and legends. there is a sayin that in all lies there is some truth. but its hard to confirm since these old myths originates from 10000 to 50000 years back in time, some even older. and until humans find out what happened after the last ice age and until some started to write down what happened around them im open for both very old people and also that some people was bigger than normal, almost giants. but today we know little, most of it is gone. we dont even know who build the pyramids

I can agree that we do not know for sure. But you can get a good educated idea by looking at the trend of humans and health as we do know in current history.

We gain longer average life spans every single year due to new medicines etc etc..

Back in 0AD, you were considered an old fucking man if you lived to 40.

another ting when it comes to ancient people, a year wasnt always 52 weeks like today so keepin track of time was harder.

but again; yeah 40 year was concidered old in 0AD, and yes we live longer today than that, but if your gonna make a statistic on how many started to smoke last year you cant just look at the last two seconds and come up with a number. there is variables such as how we became homo sapiens and we are still confused about the missing link. for all we know there could have been other races of humans (not homo sapiens) in our evolution history that only lived for a short time on this planet, maybe 20000 years, that could reach this ages. im open for everything until i know for sure.

oh well, i havent given this subject much thought before tho im just open for possibilites

Well, you are going to run into the problem where hard evidence and facts run out and are replaced by mere speculation.  Similar to the line between science and religion.  We can speculate that we are really batteries for an alien speices living in the matrix.  However, its unlikely.

History is one of the best way sto learn about the future.  Nature is very predictable over long periods of time especially when you have a decent understanding of your own species timeline. Obviously its not 100% accurate or anything, but you have to base on SOEMTHING or everything we did would just be one giant guess.

history is indeed the best way to learn about the future, and one of the biggest crime of humanity is the church who has since 300AD used their time to burn books, burn knowledge, burn people with knowledge and has whipped us to belive something that they wanted us to belive. thats why i hope that we will reach a point in science so that we can find better out what has happened also in recent time, maybe not longer than 100 years back in time. like i allready said we dont know shit about our past except pieces here and there. maybe they can wake up peoples genetic memory one day or something
