Poppies

What variety is considered the most potent? Bowling ball, Turkey, etc. What's the best source for seeds? Of course I'm growing them for ornamental purposes. The seed pods make great dried flower arrangements.

Ornamental purposes, yea right, haha,That's kool, not sure which are the most potent though.Try bouncing bear botanicals, you can purchase them there.Or,just go to yahoo search, and type in opium poppy sales, and you will get an infinate list of place that sell them.I've bought them before. They are so easy to grow once they sprout.I grew mine indoors under a high pressure sodium lamp, and they did great.Hope this helps you out man.PEACE

grow outside , the winter is coming and they will grow through the winter and bloom in the fall

infact, you live in quebec I see, you should be planting soon, but theres no rush you could wait a while , but right now the time is good

you can also plant in spring and harvest in summer

so if you did both, you would have a double harvest

and if you DO want to grow poppies indoors go with some cheap fluorescents

1 1/2 to 4 feet, depending on the species and how they're grown.

man, mine grew to 4 foot indoors.you can't just put them in a window either.I suggest go by some flourecent light fixtures, and some full spectrum bulbs they are very cheap,or a high pressure sodium lamp.Youll get way better results with the hps though.PEACE
