FIsh tankbubbler beneficial?
    #1925110 - 09/17/03 12:55 PM (20 years, 6 months ago)

If an US Humidifer is used with NO pearlite in the terrarium...will a fish tank bubbler hooked up directly to the terrarium eliminate the need to fan the terrarium? Thanks...

Yes, and if you add an inline filter to it all the better

Its just polly fill stuffed into a container with air in one end, and out the other.

cool... so bubbler to filter into water? what does the waterbottle do other than add humidity? Would the water bottle be needed since the US Humidifier handles the humidity?

ive got mine submerged in water in a fish tank where the water level is like 2/3 of the way up my geolite layer, and it bubbles nicely and keeps the humidity above 90% easily and my temp are in the high 70's...this should work fine right?

Actually using only a bubbler system right now. Seems to work ok, I still fan a few times a day just to get some CO2 off the bottom. Seems there is a pool of water accumulating on the bottom of the bin but the rH doesn't seem to be too high. Perhaps I should split the line and use two bubbles stones.

You wont really need the water bottle if you have a humiderfyer,
I just use it as another filter really, as the bottle has h2o/h2o2
in so its like another filter stage for the air, and a little more humiderty wont hurt things :-)

I like it as it causes a positive air pressure effect, so that any holes or gaps in the fruiting chamer have air being pushed out, so its much harder for contams to gain entry.

You can use it without any filtration, but its not hard to add some, and just keeps things cleaner :-)

Yes, sounds good to me. Some times the poping bubbles can cause splashes onto the fruiting shrooms, but you can move
the bubbler end about to cure this.

yeah, its used in pillows as stuffing.
But i get mine in an aquarium shop, theres loads
of goodies in fish keeping shops :-)

They use a slightly better quality polly fill in some
fish tank filters.
