Hey peoples of the world, so I moved out of my parents (yay) but now lack an oven, microwave or culinary skills. I've been eating like the same few meals over and over; usually noodles, pasta or take-away pizza. I've no room for an oven and only have hot-plates -but am saving up for a microwave. If anyone has recommendations of meals I can prepare with the various assortment of pots and pans I have that would be much appreciated.
Even though I throw paprika(bell-pappers) into most of my I'm eating is effecting my health.

Check out an Irish Stew. http://britishfood.about.com/od/recipeindex/r/irishstew.htm you can mix up the ingredients Good heart grub that can be done with 1 large pot and a heat source. You can bag and freeze portions or leave to sit a few days in the fridge n eat over time. The flavours get better as the stew sits and mixes. mmmmm Also soups in general are handy, make massive batch and freeze in bags for easy good food.
Get a wok: Stirfry's are cheap as hell, quick to make and easy to clean up after but taste soooo good. Choose your veg, meat(if affordable), sauce and some dry egg noodles. Quickly brown the meat for a few mins, add veg for a few mins, throw in the sauce for a few mins and then then throw in your boiled noodles for a few mins. It's so easy and so versatile all with 1 wok and again very nutritious with all that crunchy veg.
PC - you can use it for most things, boiling veg, cooking joints of meat etc. Consider mashed foods, potatoes, carrots, parsnips, sweet potato etc. Easy to make and very filling. Fry up some meat, make some mash and then some other veg, peas, beans etc to round it off. You can do a full sunday roast with pots n pans.
Pasta dishes - Any pasta, any sauce, any veg, any meat. Empty fridge into pan with some pasta - boom! Pasta Surprise!
Same goes for rice dishes
Ommeletes - Just need a pan, eggs + meat/veg/cheese. High in protein, veg for balance. Easy to make. (You might end up with scrambled eggs :P)
Chilli con carne/ spagheti bolognese (pardon spelling i'm hungover) Make a big pot of either sauce and freeze in portions. Anytime your hungry you can defrost in a pan and throw on top of any rice/pasta/noodles.
Also remember to eat a good amount of fresh fruit n veg. The stuff is cheaper, often requires no prep and will do you good in the long run. If you're main meals are lacking in variety then make it up in other places. i.e. replace an snacks with fruit, avoid junk food. A) it's cheaper B) it's better for you

A nice place to start might be with a hamburger. They're easy, fast, filling, cheap--and the national food of the United States. There's a reason why McDonald's, Burger King, and Wendy's have thousands of successful stores!
The original burger from White Castle had onions and a pickle--with cheese optional. I also add an easy "special sauce." Here's how I like to prepare it.
INGREDIENTS:
1. Small hamburger rolls (a softer roll, like a potato roll, works better. Also ask at your local bakery for a good hamburger roll. 2. Start with "80/20" ground beef. That means 80% beef, and 20% fat. You'll also see 85/15, 90/10, 95/5 and even 98/2. Personally I like 80/20, which is traditionally used for burgers, but you can try them to see what you like. 3. 1 medium red onion. Make sure it's firm with no soft spots. 4. Sliced pickles. If possible, get them refrigerated. I think that they taste better. 5. Salt, pepper 6. Butter 7. Cheese optional. Start with American cheese, then cheddar, then move on to Blue. 8. Mayonnaise and Sriricha, for sauce. Mix together for a tasty, spicy burger sauce.
STEPS:
1. Cut roll in half and lightly butter. Place face-down to toast until golden brown 2. Flatten out ground beef into a patty about 1/2" thick. Salt on both sides. Slap the patty into the hot pan. Make sure that it makes good contact with the metal. Brown on both sides. If using cheese, melt on top after the flip by adding a few drops of water and covering the pan. Pepper after the flip. 3. Cut one thin slice of red onion, and get your pickle slice ready. 4. Assemble burger: Bottom bun, patty, onion, pickle, sauce on top bun.
Enjoy!
Of course, there's a zillion burger recipes out there, and you can add all sorts of stuff for variety: bacon, lettuce, tomato, pizza sauce... next time you go to a diner look at their menu, and see the choices that they offer.
This is the hot new burger joint out there: "Umami burger." This will give you some good ideas. http://www.umami.com/umami-burger/classic-burgers/

ps Make SURE you get a cast iron skillet. It's absolutely essential; it's a work-horse in any kitchen.

Cooking by a recipe is easy, maybe at the beginning it wont be as easy and tasty but your skill will build up and you will be cooking in no time, try each time different things:)

Cast irons are great as long you don't have roommates who will inevitably ruin them. Same with nice knives.
Don't be afraid to experiment!! Cooking is about attitude not skill.

Oh man, I had an expensive non-stainless steel sabatier 6 inch filet knife that I keep in protected in a book in the bottom drawer in the kitchen which does not even have anything useful other than knives. I left my place for 3 months and come back to find the knife in the top drawer (with the rest of our silverware) completely covered in rust. Luckily, most the rust came off but the fancy sabatier logo is gone now and the knife probably lost a pretty thick layer of metal :\.
A rusty cast iron would be 100 times more annoying to clean. I'm glad I got a cheap one. The cool thing about cast iron pans unlike knives is the cheap ones work cook just as well as the expensive ones.

This dude has a lot of good stuff. This vid is on an assortment of omelets.
Make things like soups and chilli and freeze half of it. Then you always got a few meals ready to go when you don't feel like cooking.
