YesSSSSSS

Rachael Ray kicks ass too.  I love how she does shows which focus around practicality (30 minute meals, 40 dollars a day).

I saw the episode where she tours L.A..  Look really kick ass.  Next time you have $40 to burn on a day tour of excellent local cuisines, we'll go on an emulating food hunt.

Kremlin (and his haterade ways) ALSO dislikes Rachael Ray, cuz, according to HIS words,  "she seems too happy".  :smirk:

haha yes thats right

im a hater, i admit it (that is the first step, isnt it?)

Rachel ray is ok, shes annoying but her food is cool. Naked chef makes my head hurt with the camera angles. Ming sai gets owned by his mom whenever she comes on the show. Mario batali needs to get new shoes.

Alton Brown, however, is a fuckin genius.

HAHHHHAHA those episodes are the best.

WHenever ming tsai brings his mom on the show. She totally shuts him down and hes trying to be all nice in front of the camera. She should spank him asian-style in front of the camer GAWD she's such a bitch HAH!

Mario is annoying, I'll agree on that. Fucking talks too much. ANd all he ever does is glorify his own knowledge of italy.

Alton Brown i think is hands down the best show. the science twist is really intriguing and makes the whole show more complete. and his jokes are so corny theyre funny (IMO). I think Jamie Oliver's pretty cool, he looks kinda like a whore now but he was practically the original super-celebrity chef. i definately can appreciate his love of herbs, i grow my own now and theyre awesome to have.

Firstly, Bobby flay sucks cock. He's a pretty boy with an image to worry about, I've eaten at his restaurant: It wasn't bad food to any extent, I mean, It is fuckin' NYC, and with the competition so fierce you'll be hard pressed to find "bad" food. I had his blue corn crusted bass, which needed more flavor. The goat cheese fonduta was good, but I could probably make this at home for half the price he so ridiculously charges in his restaurant. He's a showman. His ideas aren't new and sometimes the combinations don't work.

Molto isn't being fecicious by inandating you with "useless" information. It isn't about going to Italy and experiencing the food, or spending made bucks to get ingredients, He just wants to emphasize that cooking should be regional, whether that is a hillside in Tuscany or a local apple farmer in Brenton, VT.In other words, eat the best things that come from the land around you. It's all about appreciating food, respecting food, realizing that just like Italy, the U.S. has it's own distinct food regions (as does everywhere else in the world) Italians regard food with more passion, respect and love then most, but if you ever get the chance to travel, then Im sure you'll see the parallels with our own country and society. He is the epitomy of the "slow food" movement currently going on in parts of Europe and here in the U.S. The sooner people realize the damages of industrial farming, bio-engineered crops and food hoarding; the better the world will be.

Im not a big fan of Emeril, He's sloppy with explanations and actual cooking techniques. He needs to go back to school and learn to speak an English understandale to people outside of Fall River. He does have a lot of charisma, and I too sometimes get baited into his show while in the middle of a BAM!  He's just too commercial for my tastes, and after that colgate ad, how can I take him seriously?

I am adamently against fusion cooking. It is a confused cuisine born from commercialism and lacking in any real soul. We have so many fusion restaruants, yet the Chinese and Italian food in this country is downright SHIT! Im saying average places, not fine dining. I had the best ham sandwich of my life in a gas station in France,(sort of like a French equivalent to Blimpie or Jerrys) But they made everything there, the bread was fantastic, like you get at La Brea (no shittin') Most Europeans regard good food as their right, its their right to have fresh tomatoes, it's their right to have the first cut of veal of the day, again the appreciation for food is there and where there is appreciation there is quality.  Most Italian food and Chinese restaurants in the U.S. DO NOT serve real Authentic Chinese cuisine, they serve a mish-mash of Chinese and American taste (perhaps the oldest form of "fusion") dating back to the 50's. Nothing has changed, and now because of the "Americanizing" or "ritualizing" of ethnic foods, we've lost any reminder or any hope of finding the real deal, and that to me is sad.

peace and chicken grease.

Haha, the food network is my favorite channel. Simply because I can switch to it at any hour and watch TV that isn't trying to sell me something or trick me into believing/following their propaganda.

When I first got addicted I was an Emeral freak. The man pisses me off now though, he's such a sellout and he ruins all the recipes by adding to much garlic, booze, etc. Who the fuck goes and watches a cooking show live? All of the BAM lets kick it up a notch shit gets repetitive. His band pisses me off too; the fact that he has a band pisses me off. Augh, like the previous poster stated, he's too commercial.

Ever watch Sugar? I think it might only be on the Canadian network. The host is pretty annoying, but fuck, her desserts look like no others. The ultimate stoner show! Shit, just thinking about it makes me salivate!

I can't believe ya'll like Rachael Ray! Haha, she's so fucking fake and annoying. She's always talking about pointless shit and it pisses me off. She's one of those chicks I just can't stand, like a fucking yippee poodle or something. The whole idea of the show annoys me too, 30 minute meals, it?s for housewives or something. Most of her meals are shit anyways... macaroni and cheese, fucking blah! 40$ a day is just as bad! That comment about her small cans made me laugh though, hahaha. I saw her in FHM once, Jesus, what is the world coming too.

I actually dig Molto Mario; the man is fucking intelligent about his trade man. Sure he talks a lot, but fuck it's all comin' off the top of his head. His food tastes are sometimes a little off for me, like sardines and other Italian shit but he is truly a good host!

The Thirsty Traveler is awesome! I never used to like the host at first but he's grown on me! After seeing him get fucking wasted in Newfoundland singing fishing songs how could I not like the man! Haha, or in Russia... him and his host can hardly communicate yet they still communicate through the vodka. Then the whole sweat lodge thing and wacking him with some god damn tree branches. Haha, what a grand idea for a show, he travels around and tastes the different liquors of the world! They combine traveling, culture, and booze into one show!

A cook?s tour is great; he basically goes around and eats the weirdest shit he can find. Once I saw him eat mashed up fish that had been rotting for several months! The mans crazy, very entertaining! The host goes deep into other countries cultures and brings you with him.

Martha Stewart, she's a stuck up bitch! She's always telling you to use the best ingredients and all of her other royalty lifestyle shit, blahhh.

Unwrapped isn't bad, but I hardly watch it. That black gay fuck of a host pisses me off! Also, after watching 3 episodes you basically have seen every episode.

I agree that Bobby Fay is a pretty boy and a lot of his food doesn't look all that hot. Yet it?s supposed to be the ?ultimate? Blaaah!

I like Jamie Oliver; I think he has a lot of passion for cooking. His show can be annoying sometimes, but the passion shines through. I guess I connect with him a lot, I?ve never been a trained cook but I noticed my natural passion and talent for cooking while really drunk. I mean so drunk I can?t even dress myself, yet I can make the best tasting meals. It?s truly a passion and an art, adding a little of this and a little of that.. it?s like painting a picture that melds together in your mouth!
Ever see the one where he's training a bunch of novice cooks to work in his restaurant? Swears and all, that show is the bomb!

Canadian Living cooks blows, old woman/housewife show.

Surreal Gourmet is a good show; Haha that guy cracks me up. I once saw him make a $40 dollar hamburger. Looked like shit but it was quite the show. He put like foie gras in the middle of the hamburger and truffles and shit. Not to mention he cooks in a giant toaster oven. Heehaw.

Sara?s secrets blows, the host pisses me off. Ever notice how she'll smile then all of a sudden revert to her normal face? Hard to explain but it pisses me off! She's fake and her food bores me.

Good eats is a good show, very informative and different. I dug the perfect egg one!

And that concludes my summary of the food network! The food network rawks the haus! Peace!

That was a toss up between Iron chef and Good eats. Good eats tought me much but iron chef shows some crazy shit like stabing a spike into a live eels head and skinning it while it is still alive. But Good eats showed me how to make beer and he went to the same culinary school I am looking at. So I went with good eats.

LOL I saw that iron chef episode.

Eel battle. That was nuts! He props the live eel on the cutting board with the nail sticking out of the wood and just proceeeds to fillet it alive.

The other guy had the decency to kill the eels fresh out of the tank with a quick throat-slit and gutting.

You think THAT's bad? There was this one Wolfgang Puck episode where he takes live lobster right out of the tank and uses a lever-based knife to split the lobster in half, longitudinally. And the thing's still moving!!

In asian cooking tradition, the quickest way you kill a live fish, is to stick 3 or 4 chopsticks in its mouth while it's still wiggling, then with a quick jab, stab the chopsticks inwards a good 5-6 inches. The fish will stop moving instantly.

The worst was the show where they served fish still alive.

They dont gut it or kill it in any way, they just cut through the flesh and pour hot oil over it till the outside is cooked through. the inside is still alive and the fish is still breathing when served.

Ive seen this on two shows.

In Anthony Bourain's book, a Cook's tour, he had a chapter about Japan and how this sushi chef would pick out live fish, then make a cut in the back of the head, and then jam a metal wire down the spine paralyzing the fish, but keeping it alive so it can be prepared at the last possible second at his restaurant.

My favorite all time shows are Great Chefs, World Class Cuisine, and Paul Prudhomme. I always hated watching Julia Childs and Galloping Gourmet. I can't stand the young punk generation of tv chefs since they are too similar to everyone I know in the cook's world. N dey ain shit jack. But Iron Chef is ok, I get bored with all this new shit. I like classic chefs doing great recipes. Ideally, to get some ideas from. That I can work with.

I like Good Eats, the host of that show is awesome.

Emerel will always have a special place in my heart cuz I used to watch his show a lot and then cook what he cooked. I made these deepfried eggplant boats stuffed with shrimp and egg plant stuffing, it was goddamn good stuff.

Also I got a recipe for a great shank steak / london broil maranade...is tomato based with soy sauce, brown sugar, sherry, brown sugar, and other stuff, after you marande the meat in it, you reduce the marinade and then serve it on top as a sauce, it's great, i'll post th recipe when I find it.

Also, Malto Mario is cool but I could never cook all that stuff, way too much work, but he is very informative about italian culture and the different eating habits in different regions, and I like that kinda stuff
