Professional knife sharpening
    #2458815 - 03/21/04 11:43 PM (14 years, 1 month ago)

I've got some dull knives and I need to get them sharpened. I really don't want to use a whetstone and do it myself, because i don't know how. Where can I find a place to do it at? I tried looking in the phone book, but didn't find anything, maybe I'm looking under the wrong category.

never used a wet stone for knives. cause wouldnt they have that nasty oil u use for sharpening chisels and that. guess u just wash it off.

u can get one of those knife sharpeners. the long round ruff thing. just rub it back and forth at a 30 degree angle. on both edges till it starts to catch kinda. then its fucken sharp. plus u look kick ass doin it. shwing shwing.

peace

your talking about a Steel. I have one. Steels do not sharpen, they hone the edge, straitening it. It only works for so long before you need a new edge ground in using a whetstone or a wheel.

Call all your local grocery stores and ask for the Meat Depts.

Many meat depts offer free knife sharpening to their customers.

Make sure they use a machine to do it though. I dont know any place that manualy sharpens customer knives but its possible.

The machine I use to sharpen customers knives kicks ass. It uses two spinning stones, Three passes on three settings and three passes on the super fine stones and any dull knife can now shave the hair off your arms.
