Yeah, In my case it was the use of psychedelics that initially began my segregation from the Alpha status i had held all my life, akin to making me question the company i kept and activities i engaged in , eventually it lead to alot of second guessing and a decline of confidence.

Fuck social ranking... Fuck domination, fuck submission, and fuck yourself in relation to anyone else.  The only person you have to live with constantly is yourself, and I suspect your deepest isolation is from your 'true' self.  Do as thou wilt shall be the whole of the law.
My suggestion is to isolate yourself further... go play wild man in the woods, go on a 'vision quest'.  Find yourself.

But how are you meant to know when you are fully found ? How to distinguish from a regular belief system that would help you function in every day life?

OP. It seems that you have not been able to deal with the fact that you are no longer an alpha. Or as I will put it, it seems that you were an extrovert, that has become introverted, and due to this ego loss, it has caused you mental problems, which of course effect your physical problems.

There are many things in what you could do. You need to claim back your self-esteem, and this does not mean trying to be who you were, as who were is gone, who have to find who you are, and more importantly who you want to be.

I would say that it may be good for you, to find something to be focused on, something where you can gain knowledge, a passion for a subject. You need to reflect on your own being, as it is out of harmony. I would say that of many things which you can do here is a few. : Excercise, dietatry change, meditation, yoga, a new hobby, reading good books, watching good films, changing your perception of yourself and of those around you, growing plants, learning, meeting other people at meet ups for a certain hobby i.e people who have a community garden. Volunteer, be compassionate towards yourself and others, and lots of other things, but it mainly starts from within, from the crux of your being. You are in need of transformation, and this could come through the use of psychedlics.

But I would reiterate what fishoil said, taking mushrooms can go both ways, so you need to do some preparation. You need a strong mind, and you need to be sure of yourself, and your surroundings. First you need to do research, reading about other peoples experiences, and then when you understand what you are dealing with, and respect it for the power which it has, you can then start thinking about taking it, which then means you need to decide where and in what setting. And this is difficult for me to give full advice, but I would say, hypothetically, you should have a place which you can set up specifically for a trip, i.e plants, pictures or patterns which are pleasant etc, Also I would recommend music.  Also without mushrooms, music is vital. And so on and so forth, I will not go to deep into the ideal trip setting, as it is superfluous, unless you ask for advice.

But back to the crux of the biscuit, I think you have to start believing in yourself again, and to do this, you need to gain new skills, learn new things, have a passion.

I will not go on too much as I know I can rabble on, but if you want to pm me I can go into more detail.

As for now, I don't know what type of music you listen to but I recommend these :  Sun Ra, Sounds of Siam, Beethoven, miles davis, john coltrane, charlie mingus, tchaikovsky, philip glass, los cojolites.

Anyway my friend, you can transform your health, with the help of others, but it shall come mainly from yourself.

You probably never were alpha, more than likely, your self-delusions have just been shattered by a combination of psychedelic reflection and growing up. For instance, you claim you were "increasingly good with chicks" but didn't ever get a girlfriend or even have any meaningful sexual experiences. :shrug:

I was just quoting the OP, I myself do not call women "chicks" nor do I approve of objectifying them. And I'm merely trying to provide a counterpoint, which I think is semi reasonable as the OP seemed at first to be oozing self-importance, before his self-analysis became more realistic.

Many people reach a point in their lives when they realize the self-centered view they had of the world was incorrect and immature. The only ones who don't reach that point, in fact, are those who remain self-centered for life. IMO it's a positive personal growth, as soon as you get over the disappointment of not being the sun around which the world revolves. The thread should be titled "the ego's epic fall from alpha to epsilon."

My postulation that, in the OP's case, this was due partially to psychedelics was just a guess based on the fact that we're on a mushroom-related message board. :shrug:

But, I guess I should keep my opinion to myself and hop onto the "believe in yourself" circle-jerk. As if no depressed person has ever heard that a thousand times before.

Actually believe in yourself makes more sense than most of the advice given to depressed people on here.  But by definition, if you are depressed that's not gonna be easy.  That and diet I would say most important.  The meditate and exercise, not so much.
