I love venison jerky.

You are going to have to look up local (the businesses side) and federal laws usda/fda for the actuall selling of meat/food.
You will probably need the use of a commercial kitchen, not just something made in your own home kitchen.

You could probably get away with it just selling it to your friends. Anything more than that and you could be asking for trouble if you don't jump the the hoops.

Although, maybe there is a way to do it at farmers markets with out the federal part...

Its probably a huge pain in the dick to do it legit cause you are preparing food. You need to get inspected by a health inspector and have a bunch of licenses. If you really want to find out about it though call

When selling anything that people can consume you need to have insurance, I know this for a fact. Other than that call your local Chamber of Commerce and ask them.

I like jerky but I prefer Biltong and Droe Wors . Been making my own biltong for a while . Any game meat is good but beef works just as well .

This meat law stuff seems pretty crazy. It says here that the USDA doesn't consider wild game like deer to be meat (by legal definition) so they have no legal obligation to inspect it, and while you can get it state inspected, then the meat isn't allowed to be sold out of state. It also says it's important to get liability insurance just in case someone does get sick.
