When you trip---music OR silence?

I am curious about this: Please tell me which you prefer to do, have psychedelic experience with music or in silence , and why?
Obviously I am not talking about in nature. Outside you have natural sounds. I am not suggesting that people don't have music streaming into their ears from Ipods etc but for me I would not like that. I cannot even stand seeing people in natural surroundings cut off from the sounds with music earphones. I never do that myself.
So yeah, I am talking about in doors. Who trips in silence (though nothing is TOTALLY silent of course unless your in a sealed vacuum lol) and why? Who has done both , tripped to music and in silence, and how do they compare.
I am interested in all views. Some of you may feel music gives benefits silence doesn't----if so why? And vice versa, maybe you feel silence is more powerful for you--why is that? In as much detail as possible please.
Of course I also am aware that you can have both in a trip--music and then silence or vice versa.

On mushrooms it's either hit or miss for me. I've had trips where the music has been an absolute joy, and other times it's not at all interesting (which for me as a musician, is very out of character)
On LSD, music is the most deep, rich, textured, beautiful sounding I've ever heard it. It always feels profoundly "perfect".
With DMT, I prefer absolute silence. I live outside the city limits in a separate room bordering the forest, and it goes dead silent which is perfect to hear the sounds of the spice.
Alot of the music I listen to while sober is because I've listened to it tripping and can understand it on a much broader scale and am able to appreciate it much more.

I always trip with music, psytrance i prefer most, why i say i like tripping with music is because it takes me on a whole new level, it is like a trip booster.

I always listen to music, but, yeah, music AWAYS intensifies and fuels the trip on LSD, on mushrooms though, it's different. Sometimes you feel you can't live without this deep beautiful sound, but sometimes you prefer to turn the volume really down or even turn it off.

Only tripped twice, used music both times, it has a huge effect on my mood. I used ear plugs. Want to try silence some day though.

For me it is more dosage dependent. The higher the dose the more likely I am to want to eliminate external stimuli of whatever kind. With moderate to high doses, music is excellent almost every time. Once you start getting to very high/heroic dose levels, the external begins to lose relevance to the trip.

I low-dosed the last couple times with ~1g P.Cubes lemon tek`d one time at home, alone,at daytime in silence.... freaked me out by times... heard the cars outside thought they come for me ( police or sum like that) got scared by a sound a neighbor made and so on, wasn't really please-full, the other times it seemed like music was the "starter" of the trip, like CEV`s got really intense and good feelings all the way ( choose your music wisely before you are on shrooms ) if you trip alone I`d say if ur not that experienced or going low dose
(at low doses I tend to switch between feeling + seeing the magic and then thinking im sober , I guess thats why the "weird" sounds or better, "normal all day life" sounds tend to freak me out)
better travel with music or a visual movie ( nothing with much talk ) like a documentary or what ever

Same thing here. When tripping hard, music is a distraction. Everything is a distraction - give me calm, quiet, dark room and I'm good.
On a lighter dose, music with headphones is heavenly. Just lay back and visualize the sounds and enjoy the journey. Sometimes I'll microdose at night, say a quarter gram, and I'll lay in bed listening to music while my wife sleeps. If I'm lucky, I might get some lovin' or at least a ball rub which is incredibly pleasurable during a microdose experience. Then I'll drift off to sleep while my mind goes to weird and beautiful places.

It's weird. I've done both. I like music but I always feel like it's a nuisance. I feel like if I'm doing anything I'm not 100% there. I prefer silence but have been known to enjoy music. I just feel you can get more out of a trip with no stimulation like walking around, talking to people or listening to music.
