about solo trips in total darkness and silence

i've been wondering about this for a while now:
Isnt it difficult NOT to listen to music when just lying in your bed in complete darkness?
In the 2 times i have solo tripped, music has definetely been the most important aspect of each trip. The music takes me to different places and seems to be creating mindblowing CEVs all the time.
Now i can imagine that you would get CEVs just as easily without music, and that after a while you would not mind the absence of music anymore, but what if you're used to hearing the music you love while tripping?
I'm afraid that the silence thing will be difficult for me, but i have read a lot of trip reports where total darkness and silence are said to give the best experience ever..
what do you guys think?

True. I have tripped in silence before and felt like my ear drums were going to explode from the insanely complex trance/techno music that was playing in my head.

I like to refer to this as "sensory deprivation". Complete darkness, no audio stimulation, and total isolation. I always find it to be quite a meditative, and insightful state. I think when one has nothing to occupy themselves inside the plane of reality in which we normally exist, the mind journeys into deeper, more spiritual realms of consciousness.
In this isolated state, I have always found it common to view inner universes within myself, their structures and origins, and also have encountered numerous entities who have shown themselves, and inflicted their own imagery upon my brain.
It is quite an experience to do this on any dose of LSD or psilocybin, and I would definately recommend it to anyone who is interested in more than just a cosmetic, recreational experience.
-------------------- The most beautiful experience we can have is the mysterious ; it is the fundamental emotion which stands at the cradle of true art and true science.

I've had some experiences in silence that were just as enjoyable then experiences with music. Seems my mind likes to create it's own music when in silence.

its amazing... just be sure to turn off your computer so you can hear the silence.
you'll be amazed at how loud silence actually is, and how intensely BRIGHT the darkness can be.
-------------------- Insert an "I think" mentally in front of eveything I say that seems sketchy, because I certainly don't KNOW much. Also; feel free to yell at me.

who needs music when your having audio hallucinations accompanied by CEVs? i find the silence will only increase the strength of CEVs and you'll begin to hear very 'organic' sounds, atleast for me thats what happenes.

In Darkness, all you see comes from within. In Silence, all you hear comes from within.
I used to trip with music & light etc, but wouldn't want to trip in any other way than in darkness/silence anymore, preferably under the stars in a moonless night but a darkened bedroom is also OK.
The CARNIVAL screams; the TEACHER whispers.
Darkness, Silence, the dose as low as you feel comfortable with. Hmm even one gram can be most instructive for me in this way. Remember to ACTIVELY LOOK for visuals, as the brain tends to shut the ocular system down after 15-30min of darkness. My best trips, in fact, weren't those 1/8 to 1/4 Big Bangs, but those tiny yet impressive 0.5-2gr ones. Owww! I wanna TRIP again!
