I've found that the tuna that comes in a foil pouch, tends to be fresher and taste better for whatever reason than the canned stuff.

It's also better for backpacking, much less bulk/weight.

Yeah that shit in the pouches is pretty good. They get nicer sized pieces in there without having to mash them up.

Albacore in spring water FTW! Albacore is the best. The other canned tunas pale in comparison IMO. I don't need that mushy ass shit.

I think the pouches have less flavor but I know a few people whom prefer it like you. I think I crave the flavor that most people consider foul :lol: the fishiness of it. I like the cans in oil over the ones in water as well.

That is really weird... Does it come freeze dried or something? It was on the shelf above the cans of tuna, but ew.

I'll give it a try next time. Is it resealable? If not, is it the same amount as a can?

Not resealable, unless you reseal it. Same amount as a can I think.
I used to just get it for hiking and shit because carrying cans around is fucken lame, but I liked it better and ended up just getting that

I'm sorry, no dice for me on the mayo, has to be miracle whip.

I drain the can and mix a fork full of miracle whip in it, mix it up good, put it on toast, eat with chicken noodle soup.

You should really keep canned tuna intake to the FDA suggested guidelines. There is a lot of mercury in that stuff. I eat a can every week though.

Recently I've been having canned salmon. It has like 1/300th the amount of mercury as tuna and it's surprisingly good. It's not fishy at all and doesn't really have a lot of salmon flavor so it's great for making into sandwiches cheap, fast, and healthy.

I go through more Hellman's than MW but I like to switch it up.

I've eaten canned tuna (salad) at least a couple times a week since I had a baby-sitter (before kindergarten ~20 years ago) and my in-take has only increased. As one may assume, I'm mad as a hatter.
