I think it's the hot dog.

Seriously though. Lately I've been making basic hot dogs and I love them.
Red onions at the bottom, mayo on top of it, ketchup on top of the mayo and by the time I'm done preping the sausage is cooked so I take it from the BBQ and put it in the bun on top of the condiments.
99% of the world put the sausage in first and then all the condiments on top... I hate it cause I easy to spill or stain your shirt. When the sausage in on top it seals everything between it and the bun and therefore no mess.

Toasting the bun is what makes a hot dog good on a bun (especially if it's not a very good quality bun.) If I had to pick one condiment it would be a spicy mustard.

How to make a hotdog on a bun better:
Remove the hotdog. Remove the bun. Place in trash can or give to homeless person.
There. Better already!!

I live in a free country where I'm free to think outside the box of ketchup and mustard. It's called trying new things and it is delicious. I'll put mayo on my hot dog, peanut butter if I want to. There ain't a thing you can do about it.

i like lots of mustard, and it tends to drip out onto my shirt.
so i put some mustard on the bun, with a little ketchup on top, and some extra mustard on the side for dipping
mmm... now i want a hot dog.

I could do with that minus the relish and add some cheese and chilli not that canned chilli but chilli with beans like home made. Poppy seed buns are the shit.

I never did care much for hot dogs. However, Ball Park brand came out with the Angus Franks and they are actually pretty damned good!
Being a Midwestern man, it's all about the BRATWURST for me. Cooked in beer with kraut and spicy mustard. Sooo good!

If you live in Jersey and you know what a Texas wiener is and you like it "all the way", then you know something about hot dogs. it's an ancient Jersey recipe that has not traveled well and the closest thing you can find to it is its bastardized Coney Island cousin.
I've never actually made the sauce but this recipe seems like it's pretty authentic: http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/member/views/texas-wiener-dogs-of-new-jersey-52864421
You'll notice ingredients like cumin, celery seed, and nugmeg reflective of the sauce's Greek ancestry. A lot of Greeks worked as cooks in Jersey in the 20's when the Texas wiener was invented. They call them "Texas" because of the chili sauce, but they have no knowbn link to southern cooking other than that ingredient.
"All the way" refers to the garnish, chopped raw onion and mustard.
Really a great dog.

they call it the Texas because those Jersey Greeks like to have a big ol' wiener stuffed in their mouth... you know it's true, especially with that gluten free shit

You have no right to ever ask the question "is this bread gluten free?" Just order a fucking salad and shut up.
If you are legitimately allergic to gluten, Celiac's or whatever, that's one thing, but if you're just a cad with too much money in their pocket who likes green boxes, you can go eat an oatmeal cookie.

gluten allergies are extremely rare, a lot of dumbass hipsters claim to have gluten allergies and still drink beer and consume other gluten containing products, while the gluten free crazy has benefited those few that do have allergies or celiac disease the response from producers to this retarded shit is just overboard. seriously, gluten free meats? gluten free water? are these hipsters really this fucking retarded, hell, are the manufacturers that retarded... clearly they are and because of this there's a growing movement to avoid gluten free labeled products that couldnt possibly contain gluten such as meats, eggs and other foods. half the reason for this avoidance is they've jumped on the bandwagon to drive up the prices and also to prey on the ignorant

I don't really like hotdogs. Maybe if they're all beef will I eat one. I'd rather make bratwurst or some other kind of link sausage.
When I do eat hotdogs I tend to use the same toppings and condiments as I do with other phallic meat products:
Sliced jalapeños or whatever kickin' fresh peppers I have on hand. Cheese (preferably shredded/grated). Doesn't matter what kind, but no kraft singles as American cheese is barely paletable. Sautéed onions, seasoned with a bit of garlic powder. Toasted potato bun.
Sometimes I do the bacon wrap if I feel like it.
Chili cheese dogs are also acceptable. I eat them with a fork
Edit: Hot sauce is a must

Hot dogs were not created to use up undesirable parts of the pig, all sausage was generally used for that at one point or another.
Hot pockets however were designed specifically for that purpose.

I dont really ever eat hot dogs n the only hot dogs ive ever really liked are from this polish meat place by me or from this hot dog place in my hometown. I mean both places aare like crazy its like going in a time machine to the fucking 1950's or some shit. I mostly like the hotdogs cuz of the spicy relish n redic mustard. Its fucking like real america man fucking regulars popping in there after work for a burger or dog jabber jawing about this and that.
