You are comparing a monetary benefit (welfare) with gun laws and NSA, there is no correlation there, sorry.

Welfare is not a constitutional right, it's a social program that has been around for 50 years, the government could put any stipulation for receiving the benefit if they wanted to, and it wouldn't be a intrusion of privacy.

That IS the only problem with welfare our apt mng now is kicking people out for abusing the system i agree with this part some people use the system and use it to live for free so they can spend 40,000$ a year on themselves COMPLETE BULLSHIT! So they are cracking down on this as well as people who sell there food stamps! That form of leaching is disgusting if you NEED help then by all means welfare is there for you but for actually LEECHING gross you need, and in some cases they are making people repay that money they leeched! So they are finding ways to do this! But if you and i are paying for welfare how is that the cause of america going broke? WE ARE FOOTING THE BILL! So all the government arguing is B.S. WORKERS ARE FOOTING THE BILL NOT THE GOV.

but its a start man!!! and if we as people could just see we are footing the bill and not the gov then we should all agree that something is'nt right and the taxes set for this is all a lie for the gov to make more money and/or raise the taxes for themselves!

And the responses in this post have confirmed what I am looking for.  The younger people in the US are ignorant, uniformed, low-info types who think that people are entitled to the fruits of other peoples labor in the name of 'fairness' or 'niceness'

I suggest all of you go to Kenya or The Philippines, or some other third world countries and compare what we have to what they have.  In those countries people with a US welfare level of income would be considered middle class.

Well, I live in the US. And right on our fucking statue of Liberty is clearly states that we will take the tired, hungry, and poor. The huddled masses.

The land we were built on, is to not be a third world country, but a fair, just, and kind country. One that helps it's people. Poor and rich.

So what makes me ignorant about that? Our country is built on fundamentals. If you hate it so much and so dear want a third world country, go fucking move to one.

There is no provision for government intervention for the poor's behalf in our constitution.  Government's efforts to address this problem have been a failure, thus indicating that poverty is a sustainable lifestyle alternative to working and earning for your own future.  That is fucked up.

There are cultures in this country that have made a lifestyle around the welfare state, they know every trick in the book, they exploit the system for many generations.

How much would it cost the welfare system to have a caseworker come visit each person on wellfare? It's like the deal with drug testing for welfare in FL. Ended up costing too damn much moneys, and a very low percentage of abuses were documented.

Admittedly that's fucked up, but I have firsthand welfare experience as well - the people I've seen were law-abiding citizens out a job. Parents, providing for their kids.

Sure, there will always be people ripping off the system, but do you want the rest of the people - the ones following the rules, to suffer for it with drug tests and the like?

Of course, this guy has no business being on welfare. I think this sort of thing should be cracked down on and stopped. But you have to remember that this is the exception, not the rule.

Of course, this guy has no business being on welfare. I think this sort of thing should be cracked down on and stopped. But you have to remember that this is the exception, not the rule.

Did I say I hate it?  Did I say I wanted it to be a third world country?  No.  Our country should help people--if they want to help themselves. 

And no one ever said that uncle supports the people who come here.  They have/had the priviledge of coming here and EARNING a good life.  there is no right to sit and suck the blood of people who do work just because they have money and someone else doesn't. 

I have no problem helping people that need help.  I have a problem with people such as the welfare mom--white, 22, meth-addicted, 6 kids of 6 different races who collects unending welfare so she can sleep all day, sell her pussy at night, and do as much meth as she can get her hands on.

And NO able bodied kid over 18 should be allowed welfare.  And yes, they are able to collect, I know 2 of them back home.  If they are in good health and clean police record they should go join the military and learn a skill. 

That's what I did, I didn't suck the blood out of other people, I went in and did something for myself. 

I know I am going to hear  UGH, The Military, baby killers, blah blah blah.  Well, you dont even have one hair on your ass that can talk shit about the military if you haven't been in it.

If you see someone on welfare and they are buying better more expensive shit than you are or care to afford just remember at the end of the month your eating the same, and most of those  mofo's are eating mayo sandwiches man! they give you the amount suited for you and your kids we get 952$ a month for 6 people here and at the end of the month we hardly have food and my parents pay for our internet we have no cable and WE DO NOTHING BUT LOOK FOR EMPLOYMENT MAN!!!
