Origins of the "Shop for delicious bacon"?

Above the first post of every thread is an Amazon icon and a few words, usually saying "Shop for ____" (a keyword in the OP in the ___).

Often, it merely says, "Shop for delicious bacon".


Well, where did it come from? Is Amazon paying the Shroomery to advertise their delicious bacon? Why does it always say bacon?

It's a conspiracy, it all links back to Nazi Germany. Probably aliens have something to do with it as well. There is crop circles all over the world shaped like, you guessed it, bacon. The government will try to hide my post, don't let them take your freedom! :ancientaliens:
