Yes, and Old Bull Lee is William S. Burroughs...
Here's another clue for you all: The Walrus was Paul!
Not really, but that's what john told us in the, "Glass Onion," but I think he was just trying to feed the Walrus some Red Herrings...
28 IF
PAUL?
He blew his mind out in a car...

I kinda went out of order, my first and only Kerouac read has been Desolation Angels. The beginning of the book was a lil out there, and a lil too boring/annoying; I'm sorry, I know it's poetry and the idyllic descriptions he gives of the mountain can be inspiring, but, it was almost a lil too sappy for me. However, once he got off the mountain and out of San Francisco, I thought the book came to life. My favorite chaper fromt the book is passing through mexico. I love how he puts the spanish one word and liner's, specially since I know a good bit of spanish and was able to know what they meant. (Henry Miller did the same thing in Tropic of Cancer, but in French ) I need to get a hold of On The Road when I get back to school, time permitting. Currently I'm reading Player Piano by Kurt Vonegut, about page 85 of 340. Kurt's the man, I'd also like to finish Cat's Cradle by him; I read about 60 pages and didn't have time to finish it the one time, so I'll look into that at some point. Also looking toward the last two intallments of Stephen King's Dark Tower series, yes, you have permission to bash me, but I been following the series too long and I like it godamnit!

yeah - everything that Kerouac wrote was pretty much autobiographical.

About three years ago the original "On the Road" manuscript was on an auction tour. I saw it in person. It was a huge continous roll of paper not unlike a paper towel roll; it was yellow and typewritten with many handwritten notes and Xs. No paragraphs or indentation whatsoever - continous like the road and the manner in which Jack wrote (high on bennies and jazz). I was really glad to see that historical object. Not sure where it resides now, but if you can find out where it is or Jack's other writings, definitely pay a visit to the scrolls

To bad they took out all the homosexual stuff huh?
I hear, I don't know if it's true or not, that Jack had detailed homosexual encounters with Neal Cassidy and Allen Ginsberg. I read in a Kerouac biography that they all kinds of 3 somes and other wierd shit going on that the publisher wouldn't allow in the book. Anyone confirm or deny this? The guy who wrote it really had it out for Jack or Jack wasn't really all that great of a person, I don't know which it is but he really hammers on him, either way I love his work.
Learyfan thanks for that link! that is awesome!

I believe the biograhphy "Desolate Angel" makes a minor case that Jack was in the closet. Not sure what to make of it - who knows?
Ginsberg, Cassidy, Burroughs, etc. were all sexually free themselves. I am sure there is alot that will never be known
