liquid culture success or contam?

Hey guys,
I made a few liquid cultures about 2 months ago and forgot about them. I just found them again, and theres a ball of white puff at the bottom of jar, and little floating on the top. Is this the mycelium or is it contams? attached are pictures of the jar.Thanks,

i would say that LOOKS like mycellium,(really hard to tell though) all you can really do is try and innoc a few jars at first, see if they grow clean, if not, toss it all out and start again.

Yeah, the reason alot of people dislike liquid teks is that it can be hard to tell mycelium from contams... but that looks like mycelium IMO

IME, contams sink and mycellium floats... So i think the floating stuff is healthy myc. and the white stuff at the bottom of the jar are contams. IMO and IME of course..... It's really hard to tell from the pic.s.....

mattch1, I think we have, for the first time, established beyond doubt that mycelium either floats or sinks. May God have mercy on us all.

it depends on the density of the water .
when i use tap water myc. floats .
in spring water it sinks .

Mayby I could combine the awesome powers of tap water and spring water to suspend my mycelium in the middle of the jar... I mean, everyone would pay to see that right... It would be like... all suspended and stuff
