People come and go, but institutions are immortal.

Do you realize that if ten million people put $100 in an investment account, in 350 years they would have enough money to buy the entire world!

I'm just guessing on the value of the world in 350 years, but the dollar amount is $19 245 189 413 168 170 000 at 7%.


That's 2,400,000 times America's national debt.

Are you taking inflation in to account? In 350 years $19 245 189 413 168 170 000 would probably just be enough to buy a car or something.

I came up with this plan a long time ago.  I got a bunch of people to send me their money, then I spent it on beer and pot.

Yes.Iinflation doesn't compound. It would probably only make a difference of a decimal point or two at the most.

I don't think you could buy the world with that much money. First the population will expand exponentially until then. Your statistic is the same as if one person but $1 billion dollars in bank account for 350 years. Someone could do that right now. What interest rate are you assuming?

But how could a person buy the world with that money... if a person today put $2 billion dollars in the same plan (twice the amount you suggested)?

The trick is to think of it before any body else does.

Most people don't think 350 years into the future, they make plans for themselves, maybe their children, and possibly grandchildren, but I don't know if anybody looks any farther than that.
