It's a good thing that mermaids are make-believe.  If they were real, I'm sure they'd be considered gourmet food and the truly "posh" would be dining on them.

In my opinion, "astral planes" is a bullshit notion.  People have mystical experiences and when they come out of them, struggle to make intellectual sense of what they've just experienced.

So they come up with "astral planes" and other cockamamie New Age notions.

With physics and quantum physics and so on, the obvious-ness that there is much more then this universe, as well as the deep understanding that the physical planes is just a dream, reveals that dreams are just as real as what you are seeing before you now...

Of course, this comes from a deep understanding of the nature of reality. perhaps you have just not tuned in the relative reality of astral and the physical plane... this is fine, if I had not experienced this understanding as well as seeing the obvious points and clues in science revealing the astral planes, I would be saying exactly what you just wrote... so I respect it, it is a stage in the journey.

I'm not just a casual dismisser of this stuff.  I'm pretty old and I've had a shitload of experience that, by its nature, has brought me to this forum. 

I'm quite confident of two things:  (1) There are realms of consciousness that far exceed anything you and I may have been taught in Sunday School; and (2) "astral planes," spirits, ghosts, ESP, levitation, etc. are hogwash -- childhood fantasies sold to frail and gullible human beings.  On the same level as Santa Claus and the tooth fairy.

If this opinion of mine is merely a "stage in the journey," as you put it, I assure you that you and I are on different journeys.
