do you have holes in your lid ?
the only good reason for loose lids would be to help evaporate excess moisture.
otherwise, leave them tight.

Dr Dank...I am only a lowly newbie, but I am currently harvesting from my first flush, so I made it so far. Before I started, I was also very concerned with the loose/tight lid question. I experimented by doing half my jars loose and half tight. In my experiment, it didn't really make a difference, because I had to adjust all of the lids during the incubation period to address humidity problems. I guess I'm trying to say, that you have to keep an eye on your jars and adjust the lids accordingly. Of course, you want to fiddle with the jars as little as possible. Constant messing around with the lids could probably introduce contams a lot easier. Anyway, my newbie advice is just to roll with it. Good luck.
