I do actually. Why be so elitist to think that one species on this planet is granted the almighty fucking power of possessing a soul?
Seems a little egocentric to me.

I think adoption would be a better route but I believe in abortion too strongly...the child may resent his parents later in life but at least he or she will have a life and can make of it what they will.

How about ants?

We don't bother to euthanize ants so I don't see the relevance, but if you're genuinely curious:
Yes, I believe all living organisms have souls. Plants included.

We euthanize ants regularly.  Do bacteria have souls?

Euthanize, exterminate; this conversation is quickly degenerating into semantics.

Ants I am not sure of.  But I don't kill spiders in the house.... Lol
In my silly, human philosophy I see mammals as being on a higher plane while experiencing life.
Living more by choice than other species who seem, in my humble opinion, to act on instinct mostly.  I do not have all the answers, I'm just a guy who enjoys philosophy and psychedelics.
I feel all creatures, however, are intertwined into a greater energy, or as some say, God.  This is due, in part to use of mind altering substances, so I could have it all backwards.
I am comfortable in my skin with my belief structure, only time will tell what lies ahead. Lol

Too true that is!
Only the ever ticking clock that marches us to our death will reveal what lies beyond this physical plane we seem to become so lost in.

Do any of you realize how many well suited parents are on lists to receive and love a new baby?
Orphans are from the 1800s.  OMG we wonder why our country is in the position it is.
I am glad I'll be dead and gone before "the millennium kids" come to power.
Instant gratification and no responsibility for actions.
No respect for life experience.  No respect for life in general.
Point and case, I am moving, I need a job when I get there and a close friend owns a few fast food franchises.  His 19 year old daughter REFUSES to "flip burgers".
I told him to sign me up I'll start the day I get there.  That's the difference 20 years makes I guess.
In another thread dude is asking for help growing a plant I have 15  years growing and breeding, have a college degree in horticulture and CEA.  Yet this young man argues me even after asking for help.  I pity the future of our country :-(

More rhetoric, USA has a surplus of orphans. From what I hear about the foster system its pretty shitty. Get your facts straight

This country is "in the position its in" because of the generations preceeding the current generation of 'millenia kids', your generation for instance. Right now you're just spreading hate and using rhetoric for the purpose

BooBooKittyFuck said:
So your saying an unborn baby would not feel pain? Does not have a heartbeat or brain functions? They also respond when things are placed on the stomach or to hearing the mothers voice all while still in the womb. They just have not been born yet. killing a child is killing a child no matter what.

That's what I'm saying, I felt nothing in the womb and no one I've ever met or heard of claims to have felt anything in the womb. A fertilized egg does not have feelings

* I agree with the people here saying that this is not a laughing matter. All the hate and anger of anti-abortionists is justified by adolescent remarks like "abort that shit"

Heartless soul, I feel for you.

Wow you have a college degree and 15  years of experience groeing/breeding and your'e gonna work at a fast food place?

Yes liquid, you are aware or my situation right now or no?  I am not to proud to flip burgers a few weeks until I can get my DL back, buy a car, get insurance, and so on.  As I sit right now I own nothing, I am a POW of the war on drugs.  My wife left me with my car and my bank account.
I was then forced to allow her to take anything she wanted from the house by police, I have a TV and some clothes and have been sleeping on floors and couches until I am off felony probation.
Ever tried to get a job with no car or license as a felon?  As soon as I get that handled I will hand out my resume and have an invitation to manage a large commercial grow that will begin in 2014 when colorados new laws go into place.  I am not stupid enough to catch another case and get locked up for an illegal grow.  Is that a good enough explanation for you kiddo?  Could ya please quit following me around like a puppy trolling me?  You do have some quality posts, I do not like to Nig people man.  But my personal life is really not your concern, but thanks for trying to kick me when I am down, it shows character.
Bless you and best wishes :-)

Okay I was really just giving you shit because a lot of the times you have replied to my post it was not so nice and yes I admit i saw an easy shot. If I was in your place i would probably work at a fast food place as well . . . And also, while you probably are my elder, I am not a child so you don't have to call me kiddo . . . Regards

All I see are a bunch of people making excuses for not having to own up and take responsibility for something they helped create. No instead they take the easy way out and off it. Just so they don't have to worry about it or deal with it, absolutely disgusting.

You're not offing anything.  A clump of cells, even if they can sort of "feel" isn't a person.

You say not owning up to it - I say the opposite.  They're owning up to knowing they are not ready to give a child the attention it deserves, for whatever reason.

I agree with boobookittyfuck.  (Never thought I'd say those words together in a sentence. LOL )  If everyone could accept responsibility and/or accountability for their own thoughts, feelings, actions and words, the world would be a much more compassionate place.  from the smallest mirco cosm of society ie two little boys in the sandbox, to the largest ie: world leaders discussing an international conflict. Something like that could be the biggest paradigm shift in human history.

I'm going to start with me.

I am going to disagree with you on the "murder" point. A group of cells that have not yet formed a sex, brain or any cognitive thoughts is just a group of cells. If you catch it within the first 2-3 weeks. I look at it from a scientific point of view and without any feeling. I see it as a business decision that would benefit them financially.

Facts are that this world evolves around money and when you do not have the funds, it makes it very hard to survive/live,especially with the burden of a child. I am grateful I made the decision I made with the women I made the decision with (all three times).

The guilt your friend is feeling over her abortion may be due to the pressure of negative things she is reading/listening to/or people telling her she should regret it. I know this is a very hot button issue filled with passionate people on both sides. The OP stated that he and his girl can not afford it and their first reaction was to consider abortion. It is much safer these days and seems to be the best decision for them.

I know you are aware that sometimes a women's body tries to kill the invading cells as if they are an infection that is trying to harm the body. It can wreak havoc on some women.

I also know that for people that just can not/will not even consider abortion as a solution there is no winning this argument. The ones against it will NEVER concede and say it might be better. The things you listed as the only good reasons for an abortion are the same things right wing (or left wing) religious nuts say.

Also why do you think the trisomy 21 test was invented? I feel it is to protect people/society from the burden of special needs people. This is a digression and a whole other can of worms though.

If a person lets their emotions rule rational/critical thinking/decisions, it can turn out badly.

I like the balanced argument - especially when you call pro-life people religious nuts.  You didn't show your true colors at all.

Could you tell me what you mean by that? What "true colors" do you see here?

Doctors used to be told in med school before abortion became controversial that when they were seeing a pregnant woman, they were seeing two patients.

I go by history as you can clearly see.

In fact, it was always believed a child could feel while in the womb until the issue got blown up.

QFT.

Fact, most people who are pro abortion have already had it done. That's why they are for it so they don't have to feel guilty about the child they helped kill.
