clearly you're clueless as a 30rd magazine isnt for hunting deer, it's for
the protection of hits nation from all enemies, both foreign and domestic and
here you are telling us that we shouldnt have a constitutional right to own
these firearms, that means you're unamerican, an enemy of the domestic variety

Quote:
the gun that killed those kids, and most of the guns involved in these kinds of shooting are not sporting nor good for self-defense. You don't have any 2nd ammendment right to these kinds of guns and they should be banned.

hahahaha... the gun that killed those kids was wielded by a mentally unstable
fuckhead, it's not the gun that did the killing, it's a person that did it,
and given that he was unstable and wanted to kill, what was to stop him from
building a bomb from plans he'd gotten from the internet... you dont have a
constitutional right to the internet but I do have a constitutional right to
fully automatic assault weapons with 9000 round magazines, bayonetlugs and
pistol grips, parkerized to be black or painted pink and the reason I know I
have that constitutional right is because I have those guns

I'm even going to buy my children some, I think my daughter will love this

then maybe get one like this for my son

Quote:
If you don't believe a gun ban would work, look at all the places in the world where it does.

you mean like in england? oh yeah, that worked pretty well

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/10219655

in fact because of the gun ban the UK has become a safe place, right ahead of south africa whom we already know ranks #1 in murder by firearm even though their laws are so restrictive

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/law-and-order/5712573/UK-is-violent-crime-capital-of-Europe.html

Quote:
The comparison to drug bans is an absurd analogy.

I dunno, it seems that when you look for real facts instead of reaching deep
into the bowels of Uranus for your 'gut feeling facts' then the two compare
quite well since it's clear that neither of them work especially since the
gun banning UK shows a 77% increase in murders, stabbings assaults and other
violent crimes

Quote:
There is no evidence that banning drugs has ever done much to control them, no society has succeeded in doing so. There is plenty of evidence that banning guns or at least severely limiting their availability because there a many societies that have very few gun deaths. Japan (historically, not the most peaceful people in the world) have strict gun controls and have an average of 20 gun deaths a year - proof that gun control works.

wow, so 20 gun deaths per year? seems you've drastically cut that number from
47, or maybe it was another you extracted from your ass. you dont find it
absolutely shocking that a country with an absolute ban on firearms, an
island nation with the tightest controls on not only the guns but also the
ports has had 47 firearm related murders when they should have none since
there are no guns in japan according to the gun ban? japan ranks #32 in
murder and they're known to lie to make the nation seem safer, they claim any
murder/suicide as all suicides. they reported 1,097 murders, only 47 by
firearm so it's god damned clear hat banning firearms only reduced the number
of firearm related violence but not the numbers of murders

Yes. When the facts do not comport with your opinions, you just say they are lying. Look, you can argue your position without having to make things up.

it is completely disingenuous make the claims you are making. You are lying or you are misinformed. The murder rate in the UK is about 1/4 of the rate in the US (from all methods) the murder by gun rate is about 1/20 th the US rate. Every other civilized country in the world has lower rates. So what if SOME people are murdered by guns elsewhere, as if this proves gun control is a failure. That is a complete moronic way to assess the efficacy of a policy. "Oh, he got shot. Doesn't work. Bring back the guns"

As for the consitutionality of those you have. No, you don't have a consitutional right to them. You have a legal right to have them, but the law on those can and will change as long  as people like yourself let other people shoot up schools with your guns. I've mentioned this a couple times, but you need to read heller, where that libtard Antonin Scalia says you only have a right to the most common form of guns and specifically says that there is no right miltary style weapons. You may think you know how to interpret the constitution, but it isn't up to you, it is up to Scalia, Roberts and the other 7 justices.

As for the analogy with drugs. Drugs have a neurochemical effect of the brain, and this is why they are not like other things that people may want. Would there be a black market for gun. Of course, but the market will look nothing like, nor will it be an nearly ineleastic market like you have with drugs.

These countries are less violent. They have fewer guns. If you don't have guns available, it is simply harder to kill someone. Guns make killing so much easier, and possible from a distance. This is why pris wants them. Guns are the confounding variable. You know it. Pris knows it, he just doesn't give a shit because he needs his big boy toys.

Post hoc ergo propter hoc

Guns aren't the only one. Population/income levels/housing/culture theres so much shit going on besides the scenes. You cant say The UK has less because of gun control unless you have some stat that shows before and after. Even then gun control wouldn't end violent crime or even necessarily cut it back

I was thinking of trading/selling it and getting one in pink for her. but I think I'll wait and see how girly she is @ 7.
she might hate the pink.

7, LOL. Too early for owning a gun, perhaps? Or do you live day to day with major risks all the time like this?

Come to think of it, I seem to associate your user name to hunting/ red neck style posts in the past. Oh well I'm obviously wasting my time here...

(BTW, I have no problem with hunting or being a red neck, just FYI.)

I got my first gun at 7.  It was a single shot .22 that was my uncle's.  I still remember the day he gave it to me.
I still have the rifle to this day and it's still a tack driver.

it's not about "major risks in everyday life"for her. Her parents can take care of her in that regard.
I want her to learn respect and appreciation for guns and shooting.

Dude, how many times do certain facts have to be put in front of your eyes for you to understand that gun restrictions don't change the murder rate, because it will only make law-abiding citizens who are trying to protect their state, family and country into criminals, and creating a black market where only criminals can obtain "assault rifles"

Mexico has strict gun laws and their murder rate is more than twice that in the US.

http://cnsnews.com/news/article/mexico-s-violent-murder-rate-more-twice-usa

Connecticut has had a ban on certain "assault weapons"

While I reside in a part of Arizona, where gun laws are some of the most relaxed in the country, and there is rarely a gun related murder or any type of gun violence in the city I live in and that's because many people here carry concealed which deters a LOT of gun related crime from happening.

Restricting access to weapons leaves law abiding citizens defenseless to people who will then obtain these assault rifle's illegally, leaving the only people to protect you being the police and the government and military who are never in your best interest.

Why give up your rights, for a little sense of security, when that specific right grants you the most personal security.

"After James Madison's Bill of Rights was submitted to Congress, Tench Coxe (see also: Tench Coxe and the Right to Keep and Bear Arms, 1787-1823) published his "Remarks on the First Part of the Amendments to the Federal Constitution," in the Federal Gazette, June 18, 1789 He asserts that it's the people (as individuals) with arms, who serve as the ultimate check on government:

As civil rulers, not having their duty to the people duly before them, may attempt to tyrannize, and as the military forces which must be occasionally raised to defend our country, might pervert their power to the injury of their fellow-citizens, the people are confirmed by the next article in their right to keep and bear their private arms."

http://www.guncite.com/gc2ndpur.html

We have the right to own weapons to keep the government in check, and to protect our country so we can remain "free."

Plato, one of the greatest philosophers would strongly state that Democracy will lead to Tyranny, and if we keep letting the government control our actions, and strip away our rights, which is clearly what has been happening for the past 13 years, this is where we are headed.

They are using a fear based media propaganda machine to convince you that they are doing this for you, for the children, but really it's to prevent any uprising to overthrow the government, especially in such a bad financial crisis that we have been in and in a time where corruption is so evident.

lol... claiming half the nunber of shootings in japan isnt a fact, it's a distortion of fact, what people in the real world call a lie.

Quote:
it is completely disingenuous make the claims you are making. You are lying or you are misinformed. The murder rate in the UK is about 1/4 of the rate in the US (from all methods) the murder by gun rate is about 1/20 th the US rate.

it's the police and news in the UK that are reporting this stuff, the
increase in the murder rate since the firearms ban. once again you can keep
overlooking the fact and laying the blame but it doesnt change anything, guns
are banned in the UK yet gun violence is on the rise in the UK, the murder
rate by fire arm, the murder rate in general and general violent crime rates
have increased while in america violent crimes and murders are decreasing

seriously. there's 300 million guns in the US that are legally owned, if the
firearms murder rate of the UK is 5% of ours and there are no legally owned
fire arms what does it tell you... BTW... you should back that claim up even
though we already know you wont because you cant... fucking uranus again

we can even look at the quick comparison
http://www.nationmaster.com/compare/United-Kingdom/United-States/Crime

the UK ranked #2 in assaults 133% more assault victims than the US
the UK ranked #2 in drug offenses, 326x more than in the US
the UK ranked #6 in rapes, 125% more rapes in the UK than the US

just imagine if guns were legal in the UK... well, when they were the crime
and murder rates were much lower

understand that the raw numbers regarding murder rates are pretty skewed
which is why liberals tend to use them, as I've been saying, they dont
reflect the actual numbers regarding firearms

the UK had 138 firearms deaths with  4million firearms in the hands of
citizens (actually in hunting clubs) and based on the numbers of firearms
in the UK to the US the total number of firearms deaths would be 28,000

Quote:

really? what qualifies as civilized? the US is #12 on the list while
switzerland is #15. is switzerland uncivilized? what of canada who is at #17
and what of south africa and brazil? maybe being a spanish speaking country
makes people uncivilized since it seems that they top the lists, even
peaceful, pothead, rasta filled jamaica his higher on the list than the US
and all of these nations have very restrictive gun laws and low ownership
rates. so what happened to the claim that gun bans work?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_firearm-related_death_rate
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Number_of_guns_per_capita_by_country

explain to me how I dont have the constitutional right to own my firearms?

seems to me that the most common weapon is the m1911, aka the colt .45 acp,
the second most common is the ak-47 and that's closely followed by the AR-15

so according to all those supreme court justices I have the right to those guns
